Will Danny Garcia carry his power to 147?

I think he can Ko Porter. Thurman moves around the ring pretty good, I doubt anyone at 147 knocks out Thurman.


Danny was only 18 and 19 years old in those vids I posted, he's stronger now. He's been looking pretty bad at the weigh ins for his last couple fights. I think his body will react well with not having to drain to 140 anymore. His power will carry IMO.

Agree. I absolutely think Garcia would embarrass Porter. Porter doesn't like to get hit. He literally turns into another fighter when you REALLY crack him. I've seen Porter turn into a completely different fighter on 2 occasions, and fighters don't change their stripes that often.

Yea Porter fights one way and one way only, he mugged Alexander pretty good with that style but there ain't no way he stands up to Garcia's counters all night fighting like that.

2 beatings??? PAC didn't hurt Tim. He should have won the fight but he didn't destroy him. Ruslan now put the beats on him but Ruslan can do that to anyone so it's not that bad. And Tim won that fight.

is that why bradley was staggering all over the ring? because he wasn't hurt? impromptu dance session during a fight? pretty risky indeed

and just no. prov had 3 knockdowns "missed" by the ref and won 5-6 rounds so it was a clear victory. why would you ignore knockdowns? if the ref says he didn't go down i guess it didn't happen? his entire body completely fell into the ropes at one point, at another point he would have went down again but his body landed in the ropes. please take your case up with the rules of boxing because those are both knockdowns according to them. there comes a point in time in every fans life where he asks himself "should I ignore the rules if it helps my favorite fighter..." usually the answer is yes!

No, his only two KO wins at 140 are Khan and old Morales at the second bite.

He's not going to move up and start knocking opponents out.

1st Morales fight should have been a KO for sure. Morales was already past shot but I don't know if that was Danny's lack of power or if it was his lack of offence. Looked really tentative the first go.

He dropped judah like twice and he went 12 with matthysse.

He dropped khan from 1 punch who didn't even go down once with maidana. 3 Times.

He dropped Lucas Matthysse who has an ATG chin and has never been down before.




He has the body type that is still in shape at 160, he can add more muscle and strength to his build and he WILL have more power at 147.

I think Danny will get stronger. He looks a little scronny for his body frame at 140 but im sure he makes the weight easily. But he does have the type of body that should be able to grow stronger without giving away much speed, movement etc. Not all fighters can do so, but I believe Danny is in a position at his current weight to be able to move up and get naturally stronger.
