I agree... I think he was anointed as the next big thing before actually proving something against worthy competition

Yeah, and his handlers cashed him out vs Floyd, when they should have built him up like an undefeated Mexican star like Chavez sr. Canelo was drawing money fighting anyone, so I never understood why his first big fight would be Floyd.. Now after getting undressed vs Floyd, he is in a must win vs angulo.. Gut feeling tells me gbp realized canelo not going to be a great fighter, so they cashed out with Floyd fight before canelo got exposed vs someone else

No. But if you want to play that little game you can discredit many many wins all throughout boxing history.

It may lessen the individual win against Canelo but it won't affect his legacy, no.

eh alvarez isn't that great to begin with. he is a product of golden boy hype and the mexican media. it was solid win for a small fighter with average power but i expect him to get knocked the **** out by angulo.

Prolly not. He was damaged after the Mayweather fight. I still believe Canelo will lose to El Perro before mayweather or after. I believe El Perro is very dangerous even though he lost to Kirkland when punched himself out after the first round.

Of course. Bute was regarded as a great win for Froch at the time, but it's only getting worse with every passing fight. Grachev, Pascal...

Alvarez would be viewed as more hype than substance and the win would lose shine, just as the Ortiz "win" has. That's boxing.

I don't think Canelo is going to lose though.
