All of Golovkin's next 3 fights for the year will be aired on HBO though.

BTW, can't really blame Sturm for not wanting to fight over here aftr what they did to him in the DLH fight.
I know Sturm typically fights in Germany. And the article alluded to having fights overseas that are not in Monte Carlo. With GGG's yearly Euro fight out of the way, maybe a possibility early 2015 depending on GGG's success this year. I'm just reaching here haha

I'm not familiar with what happened with Sturm I'll have to go back and check out some of his fights

Sounds good. But Schaefer can't afford to piss Showtime offer. The GBP-TR been basically made the networks pick sides. If he pisses Showtime off. He ends up being TR's lil brother on HBO. Not only that, he loses Floyd. Cause if it comes down to choosing sides between Showtime and GBP. I'm sure Floyd sides with the folks paying him 30M+ a fight.

I will be at the April fight. Between that one and Kovalev in March. I choose GGG

IDK, whilst I myself would quite like the fight, I can understand that K2 just don't have much interest.

Furthermore if Lara prsents a serious offer, having consulted with Schaeffer / Haymon and says 'look, Haymon and Schaeffer have agreed to me fighting on HBO even with options, is there any way this can get made?' - I can imagine Loeffler taking it a bit more seriously, but right now, there's just a twitter message or two. Why would Loeffler start pulling out the stops to get a fight made which Lara might not even be properly serious about?

I'd say if Lara really wants this fight, he'll have to put in a little more effort than a brief tweet.

People also aren't paying attention to the fact that fighters have obligations to networks and promotional companies. If HBO says you fight on a certain date against a certain opponent, while the fighter, team, and promotional company have say... that network is really going to dictate things. You can't just jump into the ring with whomever just like that.
Exactly. This was one dimensional Angulo, who I'm a fan of by the way so no disrespect intended, who with his caveman come forward style dropped him bad twice and was on his way to winning the fight being up 86-83 in one card and down just 1 point in the other two.

People need to educate themselves. There is no way Lara slips by Golovkin.

DLH fought Sturm as a middleweight tune-up right before his fight with Hopkins. Sturm beat him, but they robbed the **** outta him.

As for fighting GGG, he won't do it. He's old, past it, and would get destroyed. Haven't heard anything about it. But I'd just assume a Geale rematch would be a priority over GGG.

If Lara feels he has the chance to fight GGG, I feel he'll put pressure on Schaefer and Showtime to let him fight him. He obviously wants to fight him and wants the chance to. The Cold War can't last forever and it's going to take someone with balls and a mouth like Lara to start changing things, even though he isn't anywhere near GBP's top priority. Fights with this much talent can't go unfulfilled.

I'm somehow aware on how they are running things in Monte Carlo -- I go there quite often... Tha last GGG fight was scheduled very early in the evening (now I hear that it was meant to be aired for the Khazac public also...)
But I've seen fights in Monte Carlo which were aired very late in the night -- in order to be watched in the U.S. also... So, you never know...

To be completely honest with you bro, I don't want this fight to happen at all. Not even to shove it in the haters faces... It's just a waste like the Adama fight was. Same with Kirkland... but then again this is what happens when all the top names are ducking you.

Only worthy opponents due to their stature would be Ward or Martinez. Chavez Jr would be an acceptable fight as well.
