It's crystal clear that Lara would be the best opponent to date for GGG. He was a great amateur and had good performances against well respected opposition at the pros.

That's not how you negotiate, Tom. "He's with Showtime" is just a lame excuse. Just make the man an offer to fight on HBO. If Lara/GBP turns it down you can went on the record and say it's not possible. But how you act right now does not only make you look bad but also your fighter GGG.

I guess GGG can hand over the title of the most feared fighter to Lara. Sorry, but that's the truth. I'm a very disappointed fan right now.
Agreed... K2 been using this alleged "network Feud" to not make fights.
They not even offering these guys fights, for all we know, they can still fight....but they come up with these lame ass excuses

      1. They didnt made their names against best in divisions
      2. One of them will end his carrier. This is 50/50 fight
      3. In terms of money this is 500k dollars maximum. Whereas are champions in their divisions are making 10th billions.

Team Quillin is doing the same. They're hiding behind showtime. Murray, Geale and Sturm also want no part of GGG. That's well documented. But when it comes to Lara it's obvious that K2 wants no part of him. I mean he's clearly a better opponent then Lee. I have no problem with GGG fighting Lee, but if Lara is available - and he is - they have to at least make him an offer. Otherwise I can't take them serious no more.

How's HBO a lame excuse? You realize since they've been banned from HBO not a single GBP fighter fought there. Its the network that's bankrolling the fight and if they don't wanna deal with one of the promoters its not happening.

Given the cross promotion issue there's not a chance in hell this would be made for the April date anyway - earliest would be July/August.

What was HBO's legit reason for not wanting to work with Golden Boy?

I think it would be in GBP interest to let thier asset fight GGG all reward if he wins, not that much downside. Its like they don't know what to do with him atm, they don't want to throw Canelo at him, he's like a talented sub on the bench.
if he Beats GGG for the 160 strap, then Mayweather will damn sure lock that fight for another Big Payday and title.

So predictable and full of hater attitude.

Agreed. GGG only gets credit if he drains to 154 and even then it'd be some transparent, half assed credit. I wouldn't bother with the fight unless Lara wants to try 160.
