Years ago, at 150, and dropped it on the spot saying that 8th division is too much. OTOH Floyd is the reigning, unified, lineal sww champ. He's #1 rated at sww right now

GBP has a MW champion, why not let them fight because it's possible?

Or did everybody forget he existed because he doesn't fight anymore?

Let me guess, you don't want to see them fight because they're both Cuban.
GBP/Lara are doing the same thing relative to GGG as GGG is doing with floyd-using his name to help build his profile by asking for a fight that is impossible to make at this time.

HBO can't expect to do this with Manny and GGG and not expect SHo/GBP to start doing it too. They had Broner call out Manny last year and now they are having Lara call out GGG.

If you didn't care about politics/problems that prevented the fights from happening, why would we care now?

This is a good post I agree completely. But for these nsb posters acting like ggg Lara is even remotely a possibility is completely absurd.

i guess because GGG has built this reputation as the most feared and avoided

so Lara is going for the top boy and see what all this good boy stuff s all about

          I like both guys,

Doesn't GGG fight one a year off of hbo now? Isn't he a part of K2 and not to rank? If so, there's a possibility of their teams getting together and making things happen. This isn't Floyd-Pac type of hurdles here

The same reason GGG called out Floyd instead of Lara. If you're going to fight in a different division, you're going to call out the best fighter there.

You've got a major issue with GGG which is completely hypocritical considering the guy in your av. GGG has done bucket loads more than him (apart from being exposed the minute he fights someone with a pulse that is.) So whats the deal? Are you jealous of the attention he gets compared to your guy or what? Just wondering as there is no valid reason that is not hypocritical as far as i can see

Forgetting his paper title he really hasn't unless beating a load of cab drivers = doing bucket loads more and probably because he is still yet to fight someone with a pulse lol. Rakhim fought Wlodarcyzk who is a damn beast in his 17th pro fight, GGG has had almost double that and still not fought anybody!
He had 3 times the amount of amateur fights Rakhim did too boot.

Rakhim will Gomez & whoever and get himself back into another world title shot whilst GGG is still milking an incredibly weak division and fighting journeymen a division below.

Rakhim was a pro for only 4 years when he fought Wlod, GGG has been a pro for 8 years and STILL not fought anyone worth a damn.

That is so wrong on so many levels. That stuff, along with Matthysse and Maidana using the same logic, does not help them, but actually hurts them.

Having 2 good Cuban's in a fight might actually spark interest from the Cuban community and create fanbases for them.

                    • Lara is shooting for the top as he should, and his promoter didn't straight up say no when he asked him so why the fk not try to get it done?
