I like Russell a LOT! Great skills, speed, power, you name it. I cant say enough good things about him. But for whatever reasons, he turned down Billy Dib when Dib was a champ, he turned down Louis Franco in an eliminator, and then Ponce. This sht has gotten old, fast.

I couldn't agree more as a huge fan of the guy the last two years he has wasted his career away for his rivalry with TBA. Maybe he fights Mares on May 3rd but he needs to step in comp ASAP.

I have to agree. If Gary can fight TBA forever, Jhonny can fight one too. Gary has refused to step up, but now he sees an older champion and wants an immediate shot at the title. If he really wants a shot, with public support, he needs some names on his resume. No geezers, ranked, known contender names.

Anyone saying Rigo is boring to watch needs to watch a couple Russell fights. I have never seen a fighter more boring to watch than him. Jhonny has bone rattling power. He doesn't always win, but he always makes an interesting fight... but against Russell it would be Jhonny chasing Russell in a 12 round track meet... with Russell pot shot-ing his way to a boring decision. Half the audience would be snoring by then. No thanx.

People talk about russell jr fighting nobodies and tomatoe cans,but russell would have been a far bigger fight the this,way bigger and johnny would have got more money also,i like johnny but i cant help but think hes ducking russell jr now...too much speed and to much skill for johnny to handle....russell wants a belt,and was willing to fight the champ ponce didnt offer nothing not even a mandatory,so people who aregonna say russell ducked ponce,doesnt understand wut a fighter turns profesional to do and thats WIN A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!! # johnnyduckingrusselljr

Russell doesn't even deserve a title shot. And niether does this chump but he doesn't annoy me the way Russell does. He fights nothing but bums!
