Pavlik is too easy to hit and not fast enought to catch Golovkin with his hardest punches.

I think GGG would take a TKO on cuts by around the 9th, 10th round.

I'm relatively new to boxing and I've never seen Pavlik fight but this thread makes him sound like an ATG lol

pavlik blocks punches with his face. worst guy to fight a monster puncher

first step in beating a monster puncher is not to get hit flush. Winky or hopkins would be a better pick.

ward is the obvious pick today. outside of ward, I think ggg can beat everyone 160-168.

Right now Golovkin will win nearly all fantasy matchups because he appears unbeatable. I picked him but if we wait until the end of his career it would be easier to know.

Golovkin would mess Pavlik's face worse than Sergio. Pavlik is too slow and robotic for the middleweight division. He has power, sure, but Golovkin would probably avoid most of the power shots and Golovkin's speed advantage would be the key in brutalizing Pavlik all night and perhaps stopping him by the tenth round due to cuts and swelling.

This'd be a pretty easy fight for Pavlik, GGG is in sales overrated.

GGG is only an average fighter when you can hold your ground against him (see the Stevens fight or Ouma or even Adama), the reason his style is so effective is he's fighting chinny, non power punching guys, he knows he can walk through their punches and does. That is when his style is the most effective.

He's not going to be able to walk through Pavliks punches, and I doubt Pavlik would cower after getting hit by him. He did get dropped by JT but by a perfect temple shot, to which he got back up from and won. Pavlik is TOUGH, extremely underrated strength, solid power. Pavlik by stoppage.

People are delusional with the GGG hype lmao.

No, GGG doesn't have losses to Judah and Alexander. As for the topic, I'm going to go with GGG, someone said Pavlik had an iron chin but he was dropped twice against Taylor so that point is moot. Pavlik certainly had the style to trouble GGG with that range and power but GGG is a special type of fighter and Pavlik was just a good one.

EDIT: Going through the thread I've officially come to reaize that because GGG isn't black he is overrated and average, good to know.
