In the other bigger votes like ESPN Maidana is far ahead: http://espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPoll...ollId=4149443#

Floyd should just fight Maidana, its very hard to sell the Khan fight now with all the negativity Khan has been getting, just because hordes of UK Twitter fans voted for him in this poll, these people arent buying US PPVs anyway.
Yeah but they're (in theory) buying UK PPVs.

This has been repeated many times but some US fans don't seem to acknowledge that the fight goes on PPV in the UK too.

As for Mayweather Promotions, it is in itself a website written in English, so the language barrier can't be avoided that way. The poll might be meaningful pointing to the American and British public. Argentinians are simply out of the picture.
Is there no campaign on twitter/facebook, or do Argentines not use those much?

What are the main Argentinian boxing sites? (I'm asking out of general interest as a fan, not because of the vote)

It is true this would be most likely a ppv fight in England, however it will not cost nearly as much as the $70 American one, nor will it generate anything close to the American buys.

Let's all keep in mind Khan is no Hatton, and doesn't have nearly the support he did when he fought Floyd. So anyone excepting huge numbers in the UK in the middle of the night are kidding themselves IT well sell, but it will generate a fraction of the revenue it will in the States.

Facebook / Twitter are BIG down here. I'd say a fever. And it's not something new.

The biggest sports websites are the main newspapers' sports sections: Clarín and La Nación. No big boxing website.

Didn't Floyd Hatton almost outsell Floyd-DLH if you added the UK PPV?

It's a safety net for them tho, I'd say 200-300k UK PPV buys would be most welcome.

I dont see Floyd-Maidana or Floyd-Khan doing particularly well on PPV in the US. If I was being neutral, neither are great fights on paper.

From what I read Hatton-Mayweather did around 1.2 million buys in UK and 920,000 in the US.

After everything Floyd has done in the past nothing would shock me. If he wants to fight Maidana he will, and he will spin it his way. However, this poll was probably just made to justify the Khan pick, because anyone with common sense knew Khan was gonna run away with this poll eventually.
                He said that on facebook.

Who should I fight next? Go to http://MayweatherPromotions.com/ and vote. I'm going to let the fans decide.

That is him implying it. He never said directly he will fight the winner of that poll. He most likely will fight the winner, but he never gave a direct quoate saying it though.

Out of everything Floyd has done would anyone be shocked at him spinning his way out of fighting Khan.

itll do just under or over a million i bet. 200k in the UK sounds about right too.

I think they could sell Maidana more though. The Broner win was big for him here.

WTF when you say you will let the fans decide who you fight, then you are directly saying you will. Whether it happens or not is different.

Imply means indicate. He did more than indicate.
