Why does everyone have to be so extreme? It isnt either black or white, try to take a couple steps back and put down your fanboy or hate glasses. GGG will fight Ward when the time is right, GGG has unfinished business at 160 and that fight against Ward would be much bigger if GGG cleaned out 160 first, for that to happen Martinez and maybe Quillin or Geale/Sturm would have to grow some balls, thats not GGGs fault. Ward is by far the toughest fight for GGG from 154 to 168. GGG is not even a big middleweight, he enters his camp at about 167 and can still make 154 if he would get a shot at Canelo, Cotto or Mayweather while Ward is kinda big for 168.

For his biggest threat in a division above him he, taking the biggest risk his team want to make sure that this is a BIG fight where both make alot of money, i think it would be wise to fight a tuneup fight @168 first before challenging the #2 p4p fighter. Give this man some time, if actually no other top middleweights grow some balls and are still running scared of GGG it would be best to fight someone like Chavez Jr/Brian Vera or Edwin Rodriguez first, get used to the weightclass and then fight Ward in 2015.

I am a fan of GGG and i wouldnt want to see him against Ward just now (and i have to agree that he would probably lose to Ward right now but still put up a good fight) - but fighting right now, thats not smart. I dont see anyone of those 2 losing their next couple fights, get a bigger fanbase and more recognition and then have a huge fight next year.

At the end of the day nobody cares about the resume. Boxing is a business. Golovkin's last fight at the theatre MSG was a sell-out and it wasn't because of Stevens. Nobody cares about Stevens. The people were chanting Golovkin's name. Ward draws 3.000 people in his hometown. Let's be honest: Golovkin is on his way to become a cashcow and with every fight it's getting more and more unrealistic for Ward to ask for 50/50 or even 60/40. He knows that and because of that he wants the fight to happen fast.

I guess I don't have to mention that Golovkin is already a bigger star in Europe then Ward. People forget that it's not only about the money HBO puts on the table. The German, English and Eastern Europe TV companies are also paying money to see GGG fight - not Ward.
No it won't. People refuse to realize that the Stevens fight was so successful because Stevens talked up a storm and really sold the fight. Watch Golovkin's next fight go back down to its normal viewership numbers.

Can anyone post a link with a quote of Golovkin saying that he wants to fight Andre Ward next?

After his first fight on HBO he said something like he's willing to fight anyone from 154 to 168 which - of course - includes Ward. Now Ward is talking all the time about that fight like Golovkin went on the record saying he wants Ward badly or he wants him next or something like that. But that never happened.

Of course Golovkin is willing to fight Ward, Froch or anyone else at 168 lbs. On the other site Martinez is - rightfully - his top priority because he's the lineal champ and also a 160 lbs fighter. So where's the big deal?

At the end of the day K2 and HBO decides who GGG will fight next. GGG is no Mayweather or Pacquiao. He's not the one making the decisions. K2 and HBO have a plan for him and he will fight anybody they will put in front of him.

A fight against Ward makes absolutely no sense for him right now. Neither for GGG nor for K2 or HBO. Let him clean out 160 lbs.

I got a feeling that Ward and his fans are asking for the GGG fight because it's an easier option then Kovalev or Stevenson at 175. Otherwise then GGG they are really asking for a fight with Ward. I wonder why Ward isn't answering those challenges.

Pretty sure the Macklin fight was at least close to those numbers. 1.3 or something. Golovkin's numbers have increased with each appearance.

As if anyone of the mainstream HBO viewers is checking Stevens' twitter page for some pictures, quotes or something like that. Stevens was a nobody prior to the fight.

Yes. They pretend that isn't their real motive and that they just want GGG to step up. They wanna see him bite off more than he can chew. It's cool though he's gonna take his time cleaning up at 160, 4 fights a year while Ward fights annually gaining much less recognition for his hugg... I mean fighting.

At what point does GGG have to actually start fighting some legit comp before those numbers start declining. Broner was the same way. And after the Rees fight, I think they started trying to manufacture events for him, which in turn took him to 47 where IMO he didn't belong. Does HBO get desperate and force GGG into a Ward fight? Because chances are he won't get Martinez this year.

BTW, f.uck Jameis. He snapped the streak. LOL!!! Na just kiddin'. That was a helluva game and the way the streak should have ended. Enjoy it while you can. Playoffs start next season and ya'll may have to beat two SEC teams to win it again.

I am a huge Ward fan, for over 5 years or more. I am a huge GGG fan for over 3-4 years now. I can not begin to pick a winner, they both have so many great attributes.

Sometimes a resume doesnt show you all there is to offer, I mean you clown GGG pro resume but dont give his other resume any truth, the amateur resume. this shows you have never boxed. us in the know, know the truth when it comes down to fighting internationally and what the amateurs truly bestows.

as a fellow WARD fan, I am embarrassed by your lack of intellect, abrasive responses that just show your racism and insecurity. Ward would not claim you as a fan.
