quote from your commentary..............also it was a tactic for a tactic (lomachenko was the first one to turn the fight into a clinch push match)
Yeah I thought Merchant was being quite harsh on Lomachenko and bias towards Salido. Whoever that women was on the commentary was surprisingly the most on point.

If you look at the fight, Salido hardly even attempted to throw any head punches the entire time.
But I agree that Loma needs to work on his inside game. That was made painfully clear on Saturday night. To his credit, he seemed to have really put it together in the last bunch of rounds and I think he would KO Salido in a rematch.

Let's be real anyway. There were a lot of people who were against Vasyl leading up to the fight and who cheered when he lost
thats complete and utter bull**** and you know it HAHAHAHAHAHA. hey, i would suggest anyone to go back and watch the early rounds (just the early rounds) you will see that lomachenko was clinching, and pushing off of salido as early as the 2nd round...........lomachenko had made it a tactic as early as the 2nd round (saldio comes in, loma clinches him, pushes him. & zips away and rinse and repeat) even larry complained about it........."what is lomachenko doing. he's clinching, and zipping away without throwing anything meaningful" salido only retaliated and now we have guys like you who's trying to revise how the fight went.............i would ask anyone to please go back and watch the early rounds. you will see that the pattern started with lomachenko himself.

larry became frustrated that lamo wasn't actually throwing any punches & was only looking to defuse saldio with clinches (in the early rounds) larry was actually pushing for the young guy in lomachenko but his tune changed. and the woman was calling "low blows" that would hit the belt line...........

I saw plenty of them before any of the commentators even brought them up.

Salido then made it an ugly, nasty, brawl. Lomachenko was in over his head and it showed. Some of the blows were low, I agree. But many of them were not, despite Lampley's disgraceful calling of the fight.

You can't have it both ways dude. You can't have posters argue the way to beat American boxers with skill is to make it dirty than have a problem when those tactics are used against non american boxers with skill.

Salido deserves some criticism for not making weight. That said, Arum knew he was having problems in the lead up to the fight. I think TR knew it would be hard for salido to make weight and were banking on him being drained in this fight.
I agree with you that there is a double standard however both fighters here are not American. Salido made it an ugly fight, Laurence Cole should have intervened to make a difference in the bout.
Lomachenkos clinching was not as disgraceful as Salidos fouls. Though I do believe he intended to go to the body, his shots were repeatedly low. There is no way you can argue low blows are less dirty than clinching.

I think you can argue either one of them started it, but who cares at the end of the day? I just don't see holding/pushing as nearly the same in terms of damage as low blows. holding/pushing causes no damage, and Salido was doing a lot of holding of his own. I think it's funny people criticize a guy with 2 pro fights for holding and act like he should have had a point taken when there are guys with 50 pro fights who hold way more. It was a dirty fight overall, by while clinches and pushes are illegal, they happen in every single fight and do not damage opponents. lowblows do not happen in every fight and DO damage opponents.

Of course it can...Guess my point went over your head

The person I was responding to said that excuses would turn fans away from Lomachenko and I was saying that fans were against him before the fight anyway
