  • even though he won, remember how average Riggo looked against Cordoba? Like he wasnt quite sure how to get his punches off with power and conviction against an experienced pro... I think this is Loma's Cordoba, except Salido is better, relatively bigger and it was earlier in Loma's career.

This is NOTHING to worry about as long as Lomachenko continues to improve

    • The kid had a better chance without the weight disadvantage! His punches did nothing against Salido early but once Salido got "out of shape" because he added 21 lbs in less than two days Lomo was able to hurt him in the last round! If they weighed even and this kid got off first far more often he could win against this guy! He didn't have the experience to see it and he needs a pro corner now, not Dad in the corner! He needs to get the right sparring also on a consistant time frame!
Time to leave the amatuer stuff behind!

he sure learned how to hook a guy up and walk him off quickly hahaha.....

Everyone on Lomachenko's team, including Arum (who should've known better), are just too impatient. They need to get their heads on straight and hang tight. The kid's got serious talent. I thought so since I saw Vasyl at the Olympics. But everyone has to be brought up in the pro game. This loss might one day be viewed as impressive, that Lomo made a go of it in only his second professional fight.

Short memories of how everyone called Rigo nothing but hype after almost losing to Cordoba

It def was too fast for lomo though. Looked lost for most of the fight.
He didn't "almost lose" nothing, even when he started to run he was winning the rounds, cordova won only one round...

Agreed, Ray, especially on "dad in the corner." What does Lomo's father know about pro boxing? Jeeesus....

                • I felt Lomachenko won. Salido landed more low blows then head shots. While body shots are important, head shots are what count the most, and I can barely recall him landing any.

Even in defeat though, I still feel he comes out ahead. Salido missed weight, was way bigger, and low blowed all fight. **** him.

Except he lost most of the rounds, unlike Rigondeaux.

You don't get extra points for punching people in the head. Check a rule book. The most important factor in pro boxing is clean effective punching. It doesn't matter if its to the head or body, unless they are low blows. And Salido landed plenty of low shots but he still landed a lot of legal punches.
