Comments Thread For: Groves: Carl Froch is Scared of The Damage in Rematch

George Groves (19-1, 15KOs) believes IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch (32-2, 23KOs) is refusing to take part in their rematch because of the damage that might be involved in such a contest. They had a grueling fight last November in Manchester, where Froch was dropped hard and hurt several times in the contest.

Froch stopped Groves in the ninth round, but many felt the stoppage was premature. The IBF agreed and ordered a rematch, but the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement on the money.

He's certainly keeping the wind him up persona going.

        We'll see if it works.

Groves continues his quest of getting under Froch's skin again.

If Groves is unwilling to accept 15% of the purse then it won't be Froch getting stripped, it'll be Groves losing out on a title shot.

Groves has proven he's a very good fighter, but he has no belt and isn't a huge name. He's high-risk low-reward for most opponents. Maybe if he signs with GBP he gets a shot at Bika but he doesn't really have a great number of options.

George Groves speaking the truth like he always does.

Froch knows a rematch would be another beating and him getting KOed possibly sustaining some permanent damage.

Froch don't want that, who does?

Much better for Carl to face the fat lazy casual boxer that is Chavez in America.

Like Groves said even a fight against Ward would be preferable, Froch may get beat but he won't get beaten up like what Groves will do to him.
