Just look at it this way,,, ggg has been killing fringe contenders,, canelo couldn't blow away guys like Gomez, ndou, hatton,Rhodes. , old Shane, trout... Ggg would murder those caliber of fighters

Canelo is a hype job and ggg is legit,,, it will take a top level guy like ward, Floyd, Hopkins to beat ggg
What non top level fighter beats Canelo, outside of Lara, who probably beats GGG as well.

Canelo a decent fighter,, maybe calling him a hype job is harsh, but when your proclaimed the next golden boy and your struggling to look dominant vs hatton Rhodes etc then yes he is overly hyped... Fernando Vargas kills those guys and ggg would destroy that caliber of fighters

Canelo is safe cuz their isn't a lot of top talent at 154, but winky Vargas Oscar mccallum Norris, even Mosley would beat the hell out of canelo

Angulo has a really good chance IMO

Look at the hype canelo has received, it is way more than ggg

It's a bit frustrating to see a fighter I like dominating against opponents who are obviously beneath him. But I'm so happy this guy fights four times a year; he could fight two unification bouts and two keep-busy fights and keep building himself up.

In order I want him to fight: Sergio, Quillin/Sturm, Murray, Geale/Barker. I don't think any of theses can be considered cherry picks because other than Golovkin, they're the top middleweights. I'm confident he beats them all by KO.

In all honesty though, he is a bit overhyped but I can't help it. I'm happy a fighter I like is succeeding. He's entertaining, endearing and humble.

P.s. I think Ward is too much for him and gets a decision over Golovkin. He beats everyone else 168 and below.

Yes it is frustrating, I like GGG too but all the hype he is getting is hilarious and will only hurt him, remember a certain Lucas Matthysse?

Fact is, GGG will lose if he moves up and fights Ward and if Froch can get back to his best self (looked slow and old against Groves). I think Chavez Jr at 168 would take his power and could force the action, that'd be interesting to see. And then of course there's Martinez, if he can get back to his best possible self, he'll out work and school GGG, I truly believe that.

Why don't you make a thread with fighters who are calling GGG out?

(I think you have one: Ward...)

There's Ward, Mora has made no bones about fighting him, Froch is cool with it, Murray has had visa problems but he says he's up for it, Lee has said the same thing (might actually be next).

But like i've said a million times before, ok I understand he can't always get the big fights but that doesn't mean he needs to stretch out to fight guys like Adama or LMWs in Rosado and so on. There are still worthy top 10-20 MWs who would take him on for the cash. It's better than stopping a barely average guy in Ishia.

Well the public have their say and make it known how good they think he potentially can be, but then its up to him to show he is as good as people say he is.

Let him start with Floyd and then work up to Ward. He called out Floyd, so lets at least give him the chance to show if hes as good as people say.

Yep, but I think most of those who oppose the Golovkin "hype" have vested interests in other fighters in and around his weight class.

                      Seriously, Lara beats Golovkin?

And that's your basis for being the "anti-hype"... talking about him fighting at a higher weight class. Talk about middleweights Soul.

Even if Martinez beats him, it doesn't make him a bad fighter.
