I watch the smaller guys whenever I get the chance. Pacquaio puts on a good show and is a lot of fun but his fans have made it difficult for me to get behind. Lacy is probably my favorite non-heavyweight, or maybe Ricky Hatton. I also used to really enjoy watching Julian Letterlough. For the most part I watch whatever boxing I can, but I'm not a huge fan of any of the current non-heavyweights. None of them have both the personality and the ability to interest me. A lot of them are very talented however. Diego Corrales seems like a cool guy and I love his punching power. I've seen a few of his fights, including the Mayweather showdown where I was rooting for Chico, but I haven't seen the Castillo fights. I'd like to.
The heavyweights interest me the most because I'm a budding historian and the heavyweight division has the richest and most colorful history in the sport IMO. I like to compare the modern heavyweights to the old timers. The size discrepency between the old guys and the contemporaries is a cause for a lot of disagreement and arguments and I enjoy it. Even with the division in the state that it's in, I'd rather watch Wladimir Klitschko against James Toney than any fight south of two hundred pounds.Comment
