Can you imagine what Pavlik or Chavez Jr would have done to Cotto?
The monster pressure fighter that was Paul Williams.

You sir know nothing. Fights with his hands down to punch not block. Freddie has said it best he has no defense.

Totally serious. Cotto has been at best, a B+ level contender at junior middleweight. He's not been on the level of top junior middleweights like Lara, Mayweather, and Alvarez. You really think he'll be any better at middleweight? It's doubtful that Cotto will even be top 10 material at middleweight. The guys Martinez has been fighting have been top 10 material at middleweight (except for Dzinziruk, he was one of the best junior middleweights at the time). I don't see how a B+ level junior middleweight poses the same kind of threat at middleweight as top class middleweights do.

This is actually a very solid post. I've said many times myself that Cotto lost a step at 154. He's still god, bit not as good as he was at 147. It seems reasonable to believe Miguel will continue to decline at 160.

If he fails to hurt Cotto or put him away in the first half of the fight, it's all going to be downhill from there.

I'm going with Cotto by TKO in the 10th round.
Miguel's not exactly known for his stamina. You expect him to KO the larger man that late?

I don't expect a bigger, older and injury ridden Martinez to be able to keep with his pace. Cotto was looking thick, solid, and tight in the open workouts compared to Martinez. Who's Martinez's S&C coach? I guarantee you he doesn't have the same credentials as Gavin Macmillan.

                      Open workout v. Martinez:

This Cotto looks nothing like the one Mayweather fought, I thought he'd be even more pudgy at 159.
