Some people believe that he's big enough to stand there and impose his size on Miguel. I don't think so. He doesn't fight that way, and he's not big and tough enough to do so. However, with some of his old speed and mobility added to the mix, Martinez should be too much for this version of Cotto. Which "Maravilla" shows up on June 7 will determine the outcome of the fight much more than which version of Miguel shows, in my opinion.
Yep its all dependent on which sergio shows up. I think he is definetly past his best and with a year layoff that will hurt him even more. Cotto looks like he has the better legs than sergio at this point. If sergio cant move i dont see how he can keep cotto off of him. The only thing that really worries me is the power of sergio i think he can definetly hurt cotto but if cotto can avoid the big counters from sergio it will be a long night for the argentine.

I guess it's just the challenge alone that intrigues me. If Cotto wins this, oh man.
Well the Middleweight is also past his best and is 40. But i see what you mean two years ago this fight would have been laughable to make.

yep this is a good assesment plus Cotto is certainly a better boxer(skill wise) and mover than Sergio has faced in a long while, actually ever. Darren Barker maybe was the best and he gave a prime ass Sergio a good challenge.

Can Sergio move like Sergio, can Cotto continue to bring back his aggressive self and avoid the straight lefts? that's what it really comes down to.

no, Mayorga is a douche but he is a heavy hitter. Sexy has power but he also has speed and weird angles which typically has generated his KO's.

Even the 154lb version of Margarito that Cotto fought hits harder than Sergio but again speed can equal power or at least increase it. Thats what will kill Cotto. If he cant pick up the punches or cant get away from the straight lefts down the pipe he is a gonner.

you should check out cotto-quintana again i just wached it and saw some good things and bad things from miguel. I know that fight was from 2006 but that fight is the same way cotto should approach this one.Pressure behind the jab left hook to the body and right hands to set up the left hook. I only worry about cotto leaving himself open and getting caught by sergio especially with an uppercut.

I didn't know Sergio Martinez was on crutches for 9 months after his knee surgeries
