      • That gif begs the question, does Mayorga possess equal, less or more power than ***y? Are they physically around the same size too.

Granted, before the trolls come in, I'm only comparing power, nothing more. Cotto took some heavy shots there, and I only remember a body shot in like the 7th stunning him

Well I think Martinez at 160 lbs has more power than Mayorga at 154 lbs.

Martinez's health and mobility are the only real questions here, in my opinion. Whether he has more power than Mayorga at the weight is academic, I believe.

I think cotto needs to use both hands to be effective. That's what hurt him against pac he didn't have the right hand to hurt pac. I liked in the Rodriguez fight that he was using the right hand to the body and head. If cotto can land the right hand it will set up the left hook and sergio has been dropped by the left hook by Chavez jr and the left hook set up the second KD in the murray fight.

                • I don't know why I'm so excited for this fight. It's a middleweight fighting a blown up past his prime welterweight. I really shouldn't look forward to it like I am.

I guess it's just the challenge alone that intrigues me. If Cotto wins this, oh man.

Nice assessment. This is an illustration of why I believe Martinez's mobility is vital to his performance. If Cotto can come forward and pressure without being frustrated, he'll find a home for his punches. Sergio is a slick fighter, someone who relies on his speed and movement. Some people believe that he's big enough to stand there and impose his size on Miguel. I don't think so. He doesn't fight that way, and he's not big and tough enough to do so. However, with some of his old speed and mobility added to the mix, Martinez should be too much for this version of Cotto. Which "Maravilla" shows up on June 7 will determine the outcome of the fight much more than which version of Miguel shows, in my opinion.

Neither fighter is prime, that's what makes this fight interesting at all. Sergio turns 40 in February and Miguel turned only 33 in October. Cotto has certainly seen better days at better weight classes; but Martinez, a fighter dependent on his mobility, has had a couple of knee surgeries. What combination of pulses/negatives will win out? The answer to that question is a big reason why we're intrigued.
