I can't see how HBO could force Cotto fight Golovkin over Alvarez. Alvarez means big money, Golovkin does not. Not that it matters, because Cotto will probably lose to Martinez.

Martinez is damaged goods at this point. No way in hell he beats Cotto.

Martinez will have healed by the time he fights Cotto. Besides, watch the Trout fight. Everything Trout did to trouble Cotto, Martinez does better. Martinez, even injured, moves better than Trout. He has a better straight left to the body than Trout. He has a better left uppercut than Mayweather used against Cotto. He's faster than Trout. He hits harder than Trout. He has a better chin than Trout. He has better stamina than Trout. He's more versatile than Trout. He's taller than Trout. How do you think Cotto beats Martinez? What should his gameplan be?

You are just saying random things that you assume Sergio is good at.

Cotto is going to obliterate Sergio with his jab. That cutesy leaving his hands at his side thing might work against Darren Barker and Chavez Jr. but no way he gets away with it against Cotto. Sergio already gets hit a lot as it is he has been able to coast against mediocre MWs but facing a legit puncher who can put together strong combinations he wont survive.

I'm not just assuming. I've watched enough of Martinez to know. Straight left to the body? Watch the Chavez fight. Watch how much Trout hit Cotto with it. Mobility? Watch nearly any of his fights. Power? He's knocked out top middleweights. Chin? Martinez took bombs from Pavlik without being hurt. Martinez has fought world class middleweights who probably hit much harder than Cotto. Cotto is probably going to be far more mediocre as a middleweight than the guys Martinez has been fighting. If Martinez survived and beat up guys like Pavlik and Chavez, Cotto should be easy work. How will Cotto get in range to jab Martinez? Martinez will keep Cotto at the end of his much longer jab.

Pretty sure Chavez jr hits harder than Cotto lol. I like Cotto and all but Sergio is like all of Cotto's weaknesses put together.

Good analysis size is going to play a huge factor in this fight reach and weight will nullify all of Cotto's strengths. Martinez is used to facing much bigger men in the ring so he'll have a considerable power advantage.

Whatever man I'm not going to convince you when the fight happens I'll bet you all of your points and even give you 5-1 odds. I seriously think this fight is such easy money for Cotto by stoppage. Everyone looks at Sergio as if he is the one from 2009 fighting Paul Williams. The dude has been washed up for years now and even he knows it by the cherry picked fights he has been making.
