If they dont televise 2+ I'm sure they would dispute it.
They'll counter with they are offering a fight in the form of Golovkin and that's the fight they want

This is the question. If HBO had balls, they would put up big money for Martinez vs Golovkin and look at it as an investment, as it will be more of a historically significant fight.

Yes they may blow more of their budget than they want, but Golovkin and his ratings deserves it, because if he does pull it off, he will be their next cash cow.

No more little insignificant defenses against fringe contenders. Put the money up so Martinez will take it, as the other real contenders seem more focused on each other instead of GGG

Sergio vs GGG can be a PPV, at least i think it deserves that.

I really want this fight to happen. Prime Sergio would have destroyed Golovkin, but 40 years old Sergio with a bad knee I think GGG has more chances to win this fight.

If Sergio manages to beat GGG he is gonna be very high in my ranks.

I've been hanging on HBO doing exactly this. He's a proven fighter on their network and has already pulled bigger numbers than Sergio.

They need to honour their end of the bargain and push hard for a Martinez fight. Time is perfect for the passing of the MW king torch.

List them off..... if Sergio doesn't fight Golovkin next, isn't it an obvious duck?
He's not getting out of that HBO contract without fighting him
Yeah, Sergio Martinez, the great duck. Already fighting two classes above where he started...got ripped off against the "most feared man in boxing" at the time, Paul Williams and had no problem facing him again. He had no problem facing the cruiserweight, Chavez Junior either. He fought all across the world earning his shots, dude came from dirt to hanging with royalty. If people now need to put in a little work to fight with him, then go out there and put in that work.

It's a business and if Sergio looks great against Cotto and Golovkin has another soso fight in his next outing, HBO will come up with multiple reasons not to make the fight happen. Golovkin is their product and they only want to see him in the ring against opponents who are going to match up with him stylistically. They need him to KO guys, that's his MO and as soon as the KO's stop, their marketing strategy fails.

People said that he was "ducking" Chavez jr too. The man isn't afraid of anyone, he even said he wants the fight. Now what he personally wants and what Lou wants may be two different things but Sergio ain't afraid of any man.

I think the only people saying that was Smash and Mushadeen... Actually... according to Smash, JCC Jr is still undefeated

Gosh, is that dude still around? I know there were a handful and that's all I remember, seeing the "Sergio is ducking the Vaca Del Oro" posts in every single thread. You couldn't escape them and there were a couple more that disappeared after the fight actually happened but Sergio is always ducking someone it seems. It's like the dude isn't worthy of making some bank or something.

I think Mush is perm banned, but I've seen Smash around. Don't remember if it was me, but he seemed really surprised when the notion was brought up that Sergio beat Chavez....
