Yes, Golovkin didn't look like a P4P#1 fighter, yes he looked disinterested, yes he could have closed the show early, and yes he got tagged with some unnecessary shots (he didn't get tagged every time like some people here are claiming, he makes slight movements and avoids most punches). But the thing is he dominated the fight, won every round, dropped him 3 times, and made it look easy as hell.

i had to get the fight on youtube. the quality wasn't great. it was hard to see facial damage, the extent to which punches landed.
golovkin looked good. he rolled a lot of adama's offense well in spite of the fact that he came forward all night. as always, he punched hard and had an educated offense. he picks his shots well, and knows when to put something on the shots.
he looked a little tight against stevens, throwing hard constantly. he worked a bit more against adama, and took the hard shots where he could get them. the left hand did a lot of good work tonight. great uppercut and a very short hook. adama was well suited to keep his hands up.
golovkin is the best middleweight on the planet. martinez is technically the champion, but he'd be a dog against golovkin in vegas. i woldn;t be saying that if sergio didn't look so bad in his last fight, and have such serious and ongoing lower body injuries. martin murray could easily have won that fight.
couple those injuries and the aging process with a purely athletic stylist like martinez, and you'll get a golovkin knockout.
golovkin ko martinez in 10.

I'm a BIG 3G fan too. But Honestly people how does criticizing his performance equals to being a Floyd or Broner Fan. Or being a racist. Oh the Irony.. Calm the **** down people. He fought Adama not Ali..

Solid win by Golovkin. Adama did all he could. Golovkin chased that left. He clearly knew trading hooks was a must with Adama. Well played.
Golovkin-Geale makes all the sense in the world now. Screw HBO if they keep pushing Krikland.

they're in the business of entertainment, phantomdog.
golovkin vs kirkland would be extremely entertaining. the geal fight would probably look a bit like the adama fight, where you just get more of a steady rain.
geale's obviously a better opponent. he will last longer, and have a better shot to win. kirkland will get knocked out in the first half of the fight. it will look spectacular, the kirkland fight.
anything to get golovkin back on hbo is good for me. he's too old to be taking anything but a forward step. i'm not sure why hbo won't buy golovkin - geale, but that's what it's looking like.
