  • Golovkin is simply unbeatable...not sure where he goes from here. Should just retire on top of his game I guess, no one credible in his own weight will fight him, he won't move up, he won't get credit for having guys move up to fight him, there is only on viable option it appears.

        • Gannady has to be frustrated. Nobody wants to fight him. Chavez Jr. Management said no. Everyone else before has said no. He has to fight guys just to stay active and make his money. I know the fans don't like it, but it's on the promoters at this point.

          • I actually just watched the fight, he looked like he was in first/second gear.

            • I have witnessed this so many times. The sport hypes up a big puncher by putting him up against guys he will surely beat in a dominant fashion but the minute he steps up, then he doesn't look so stellar. Ortiz, Juan Ma Lopez and many others. As soon as these big punchers get beat then they get beat bad and can never recover mentally. Look at Bute. Fought 1 solid guy and got his beat and now he is having nightmares. Didn't GGG peoples turn down a legit fight for him at 160? They're building him up. Martinez beats him.

the truth is halfway between the two. He ate a few shots but slipped or blocked the vast majority. He seemed to be in second gear all night

My point is.... He's going to continue to look spectacular against guys who has no chance but when he finally gets in the ring with someone that matters he is going to have a hard time and get beat. Boxing is a business first these days.
