It's physically impossible to fight in a come-forward, aggressive style like Golovkin and not get hit. Hell Floyd fights in a safe-distance, defensive style.... and even he gets hit!Comment

If you all look at compubox GGG lands at 41% and gets hit at 25%...41% is the 2nd highest connect percentage and +16 is also 2nd...getting hit at 25% is not that bad for someone with his style...Ward connects at 38% and gets hit at 24%...so only 1% more does Golovkin get hit more then Ward...with his style and his chin thats darn good...Comment

Fuck Andre Ward. Give me GGG Vs Martinez. That's the fight everyone should be looking to see. Yes, Martinez had a bad performance and a long layoff, but he is still the champ and was a hot streak himself up until recently.
That's the passing-of-the-torch fight that needs to happen before GGG can move up to 168. OR Martinez beats his ass and solidifies his legacy which would be a shocker and a spoiler to a lot of fanboys.Comment

I saw great defense. Catching a few hooks isn't so bad.
People seem to forget GGG's pedigree. He obviously had gauged Adama's power earlier and calculated that it would be more effective to take some to give one.
GGG's head movement, body blocking, footwork, distance, and timing were all spot on. Look at the fight again and concentrate on Adama's offense and GGG's answers. Then you will see.
I was doing both. If I was just watching GGG I wouldn't notice what Adama was doing.
GGG showed good upper body movement but I wouldn't say his defensive footwork was stellar. GGG's "answer" was to mostly just trade with him and that's what I'm talking about. GGGs jab is too good to have to resort to trading jabs or running straight into them by just bending his waist some. Adama didn't have any power of follow up behind the jab, so GGG was fine but lets not pretend that Adama wasn't outboxing him here and there. Yes, I'd rather be GGG at the end of each round because he did more damage, but hes eventually going to fight someone who can hurt him with all the opportunities he's providing. You think if he fights ward or quillin he'll get them in such a small ring? He tried to at times cover up, move his head a bit but he wasn't throwing and being kept at bay mostly while doing just that. Look, I think GGG is or at least appears to be the man at 160, but there's not much for him there he'll have to move up eventually if he wants to quell some doubts and I'm not sure he's defensively sound ENOUGH to favor him clearly over guys who can crack and take his power.
I'm exaggerating when I say things like he has "zero" defense. What's implied by that is that he doesn't seem to possess ENOUGH defense. Now, again...it could be his level of competition but someone nicely put it "gets three knock downs and the stoppage" with people not thinking it was a great performance or something like that... that's the point. The guy you're supposed to stop shouldnt be looking like a world champ in between all that...
DISCLAIMER: I don't think Quillin beats him... but the fight seems closer to me all of a sudden.Comment

Adama maybe won the 5th round, and he was very game for this fight showed up in great shape and still got crushed like the rest.
Can GGG beat Ward? Probably not, I think Ward beats anyone from 168 down. Maybe some fighters at 175.
But I would take GGG to beat anyone at MW or 154 (except my boy Lara of course).Comment
