How are expectations high? Is it too much to ask him to step up and fight somebody a bit better than a crude 154lber whose career highlight is going the distance with featherduster fists Geale?

He might beat Martinez now today's version but a few years ago he'd have beat Golvokin easily.

Excuses for what? It was mostly a dominating performance with a few moments where his opponent did good. An awkward guy who's never been stopped before, it's not an excuse it's reality.

thats not what im saying. what im saying and him and his team and hbo have to absolutely make something happen this year. whatever they have to do, force fighters to fight him, move him to 168 ala paul williams, it has to be done. what im not gonna do is get excited about any more of these fights. and it seems golovkin feels the same way.

Geale really isn't very good have you not seen how critical I have been over Geale over the years?
Its not just about him getting hit. Adama could of had much more success and GGG nuthuggers would still make excuses. He looked baffled in there as he always does when a guy shows him movement and doesn't play the sitting duck.

Makes me laugh how nobody had even heard of the guy, now all of a sudden he is this great fighter who put up a half decent showing against Daniel Geale.

I was but thought I'd sign in and post since I was watching the fight anyway.

People who have never heard of Adama don't follow the sport seriously.

I agree that Geale is overrated, but he's a scrappy guy who fights for all 12 rounds - that's more than can be said for many fighters in the sport.

GGG dominated Adama, who isn't a bad fighter but obviously not a very good one either. GGG knocks out opponents who he outclasses, something most of the sport's premiere fighters can't even do. That's why he's got the following.
