well there are a million safer ways to make money. Plus most never even make any real money. Plus they spend years in amatuer programs for free. I would say they do it for the love of the sport rather then money. Hell I spent years in the gym sparring and fighting and whatnot for free. Actually you pay gym dues for it. Though I did get 30 bucks for my first am fight

They do risk their lives beating the **** out of each other, and if we didn't find that entertaining nobody would pay them, and nobody would risk their lives for money or otherwise so ultimately the phrase is true although not as noble as they make it out to be it remains true. Besides not all pro boxers get paid millions of dollars,but they still get hit just as much.

Fights do happen every day over ****** **** like you say, and that's why world star exists but I doubt any major televised sport for the masses where killing each other was a possibility, and beating the **** of each other is the goal would happen without the money incentive.

explain the amateurs and the olympics then? Pan am games, world games, Cuban amatuers all the small amatuer shows all over the world in all combat sports. Gym smokers??? the list goes on and on

I'll equate it with men and women in the military. They're always hailed as heroes. In reality, most of them can't find regular jobs. They're heroes to me if they're doing it for free.
