Why would Marquez be scared of Provodnikov? There's really no reason for him to take the fight. He's been looking for a title in his 5th weight class. Ruslan doesn't provide that opportunity. I don't think Marquez would be motivated in a fight against Ruslan. A win wouldn't be a great career achievement nor a big money fight.

If we put things in perspective, Marquez is almost 40 years old and practically semi-retired (only fought once last year). He's only going to fight one or two more fights. I'm sure he has his eye on the Pacquiao/Bradley winner.

Not saying he should be scared, but I think it's fair to say Ruslan would be the biggest puncher JMM has ever faced.

provodnikov vs marquez sounds like a fcuking good fight to me. however im not sure marquez is interested in anything other than a bradley rematch or a welterweight titlist for that extra division championship.

And Marquez vs Provo is not even PPV material. Marquez is not an A side PPV attraction, he needs a really well known opponent to draw well.

Who's he gonna fight if it's not Ruslan??? Not rios. TR has no ww with a title other than Tim who he just lost to and he's fighting PAC. He can maybe go to GB. If that's possible, who is he fighting? Porter? I wound say No. Chino will be fighting Broner. Floyd? He's fighting Khan most likely. So no fifth title in sight for him for those using that as a reason not to fight Ruslan. GB has just maybe Lucas Matthysse at jr ww, He's fighting him?? I doubt it. Robert Guerrero at ww??? Nah...... If he doesn't go with Ruslan, he's gonna just be sitting on shelf doing nothing.
