Most of those glove shots went through even if they weren't clean. You can't peakaboo against an accurate hard puncher and pretend it's really a good defense. Agnew's face was wrecked.

TBH,I was not sold on Kov at all..He convinced me a lil yesterday night,I liked his patience..His work rate, and of course his power..I still wanna see him fight someone more credible..If he beats Pascal,I'll have to say Kov is the real deal..

Watched the card this morning. First fight started out decent but fizzled out. Dulorme isn't ready for Ruslan yet obviously.

Second fight was just a matter of when. I didn't even bother scoring it.

Agnew sucks, worked his whole life to get a chance at a title and just covers up all night? His best shots were a low blow and a head butt

He landed some good counter shots but Kovalev's power was just too much. He lasted 7 rounds fighting the way he did. Most guys get blasted out in 2 rounds trying to be a tough guy and that might as well not even be a fight.

Agnew will be back and he will beat some name guys. Kovalev is just a monster and Stevenson is right in running for the hills to get away from him.

He did land a few good shot when he threw, all 13 total punches

He didnt try, and i say this for all ear muff guys. He covered up not to get hit by a head shot he doesnt see coming, hoping to land a lucky haymaker. He came for the payday, thats it. Who cares that he survived, why is this held to such a high regard when the guy didnt actually try to win?

Who has looked "good" against Kovalev though? The guys that really try to beat him punch for punch don't even make it out of the second round on average. To me, I'd rather see a guy try a different approach for the sake of trying to take the fight into deep waters to tire him out than go for broke and get sparked out in 6 minutes. It's not like he didn't try anything, it was the power that kept him so defensive. I just don't think there is anyone out there that can really take Kovalev's power to the degree that is needed in order to win against him.

I don't want to make it sound like I think the guy is the living terminator but based on what I have seen him do to guys, I don't think other attributes (reflexes, movement, speed, etc.) are enough to bridge the gap that exists between Kovalev and his opponents when it comes to the power edge.
