I seen Agnew fight. He's good but by world class standards not so much the way I see him. I actually liked what I've seen from Lionell Thompson more.

I just dug up on Kovalboxer.ru that Kovalev's had to actually sacrifice part of his purse to get Agnew in the ring - The HBO budget for this fight ain't what Agnew would agree to so Kovalevs taken a financial hit - for Agnew ffs. SMHS -what happened to guys actually being hungry to be a champion. Looks like Cedric just wanted danger money.

IDK how well the link will work (cos of the translate), but hell, giving up part of his own purse kinda illustrates just how difficult it can be to get guys in the ring once you're considered a danger guy, but your financial backers aren't ready to take a risk.

If Cedric Agnew wasn't happy with the purse how the hell they gonna get a bigger name in there? FWIW apparently Agnew doubled his asking price at some point - possibly after realising how badly Kovalev needed an opponent (maybe when Fonfara agreed to Stevenson at a guess).

Kovalev by stoppage in round 5....Agnew is decent and should hold his own for a bit but will get caught sooner or later.

I'm not sold on GGG but Kovalev seems like the real deal.

I guess the Adonis fight wont be till late 2014 assuming both don't have any slip-ups inbetween that time.

Should have just made one option.....Kovalev via KO because that is THE ONLY outcome.

I'm a fan of Kovalev but this is a joke of a fight.

                Untested, unproven, unranked.

Nothing to earn a shot with Kovalev and from what I've seen not in his level.

This is Cedric's step up to world-class competition, he's 26-0 and has earned this opportunity.

You didn't complain when Froch fought Yusaf Mack, who Agnew beat.
I couldn't care less about the sanctioning bodies that doesn't mean a thing.

He's unranked, hasn't fought a ranked fighter and has far far far from earned a shot at one of the best LHWs in the works, arguably the best.

He hasn't earned a thing. How has he earned it? His best win is Yusuf Mack who is terrible.

He is not on Kovalevs level.

Why do you make things up? This is a serious question. You do this constantly.

Go back and look at posts from that build up.

I was very critical of that fight and predicted Froch to knock him out in the first round. Complete joke of a fight and mismatch. Much like this fight is.

I don't know, but Kovalev doesn't strike me as someone that has the best chin. Wasn't he rocked by Boone supposedly? I could find the footage of that but people on here have said it so I wonder if that's true. Kovalev can definitely give a good punch, but can he take it?
