The guy he fought tonight.... Spilka was terrible. just terrible.
I looked into him a bit and it turns out he used to be a cruiserweight, then had like a 2 year layoff and came back a fat 240lb heavyweight
Watching some of his previous fights, this guy was nothing special at all, going the distance with Jameel Mcline and being floored by mike mollo in a fight he did not look impressive in. He also looked laboured against Brian Minto.
Jennings looked pretty good, but you have to put it into context, he was fighting a C level heavyweight.
Moving forward I would like to see Jennings in against a B level heavyweight like Chisora, Perez, Thompson or even Steve Cunningham
After that we can move on to a Povetkin, Pulev or Solis
I was going for Szpilka but come on, you have to give Jennings credit. You talk smack about Szpilka being a CW but Cunningham is NOT a B level HW.
Szpilka is a much more dangerous opponent than Cunningham. Im sure Szpilka would have knocked Cunningham out.
too be honest I would pick Cunningham to easily beat szpilka. artur is a great fighter to watch but he is C+. he beats the journeymen but Cunningham is a solid boxer & I think he boxes szpilka's socks off. I think we have seen how far he will get. he's been down lots & the fighters only get bigger & stronger as he moves up. he is an ESPN main eventer or a nice guy for an undercard on a big telecast.

Where does all this Szpilka love come from? There are a few guys talking him up on here both before and after the bout. Did no one watch his neanderthal, caveman bouts with Minto?

This. Cunningham's skills are a level above what Spilka brings to the table.
Jennings just beat a C-level fighter, now let's see him against a B-level fighter before he gets a title shot.
American fans are desperate. And it shows because Jennings is getting way to much credit for beating a fighter that was knocked down three times by Mike Mollo. That is all I have to say about that.
Jennings needs to step up and fight a b or c level fighter first. These heavyweights need to go back to the old days and earn their shot at the title via beating other top 10-15 fighters. How often is there a heavyweight fight between two top 10 rated fighters, not including a Klitschko?
Haye didn't fight any top tens, neither did Vitali. Fury, Helenius, Pulev, Povetkin, Solis, Adamek, Wilder, Stiverne, Jennings.... Why haven't any of these guys fought each other? God this division sucks man. It's a bunch of wannabes hoping for a lucky call from the Klitschkos.
It's ridiculous that the contenders are fighting bums and just waiting around for the champ to knock on their door. Take the choice away from him god dammit! Prove you're the best of the rest.
Ha, funnily enough this guy lost to Szpilka by KO in 4 back in 2012...I don't think Fury should get back in with competition like this, it isn't like Chisora's case where his career is in the balance coming off losses and he needs these easy opponents...
