You don't understand, PR blood doesn't count to them, it is cultural and for that reason he will never fully be embraced. And it gest worse for him because as soon as the ink is dry on a contract where he is facing a fighter from Puerto Rico, they will turn on him and embrace their own so it is a shallow support to begin with. That is the way it is.Originally posted by Golovkin View PostHe does have PR blood and roots though, so he is easily adoptable on the PR market; specially with the lack of champions and prospects from the island.

Plenty of Mexican support for many Mexican American fighters that where either born in Arizona, California etc. this situation is no different. It's just being done late in life it'll bump ppv numbers if Garcia is ever matched with Mayweather.

Jeff Mayweather said that the only two people he sees being a good fight for Mayweather Jr. is Timothy Bradley and Danny Garcia.. But he said Danny Garcia's Dad wants Danny to be the future of Boxing, So he is hoping that Mayweather retires without fighting Danny, So Danny can be the future of boxing. Because Jeff Mayweather says he knows Danny and Angel Garcia is scared as hell to face Floyd. And with Timothy Bradley he says, Bob Arum is in the way.

Exactly. As far as "easy" opponents go Herrera is a tough out.Originally posted by jio999 View PostHerrera is no scrub by any means the only thing he lacks is major power but go watch Herrera Alvarado or Herrera mayfield he gives everyone he fights hell I expect a good competitive fight w. Danny taking the decision.

It is different! When you look at the cultural impact. Because when you say Mexicans support for Mexican Americans, that totally dissolves when that Mexican American fighter takes on a fighter who is from south of the border, then that Mexican American is the enemy them and no longer supported by them. Forever native Mexicans have hated what Oscar did to Julio Cesar Chavez and they still resent it. No Mexican American fighter wants CONDITIONAL support from native Mexicans...it is an insult to them or at least they feel that way. It's kind of like a lady who you would like to marry but she only wants sex from you....her relationship to you is conditional. It is what it is.Originally posted by AP♠ View PostPlenty of Mexican support for many Mexican American fighters that where either born in Arizona, California etc. this situation is no different.Last edited by richardt; 01-25-2014, 07:57 PM.
