Danny just cleared a division, he deserves a tune up fight. And since he is PR only champion, I bet they are able to negotiate on the whole " him not being from PR" thing. He's probably learning Spanish as we speak, by the time 03/15 hits he'll be about as fluent as Pacquioa or at least know a few phrases to get him through an interview.

Just don't want no slip ups from the JWW King....Swift is more of a threat to himself in this particular fight now add the pressure of pleasing his peeps on the island....this can go really smooth or real real bad.....we'll see!!....Swift should knock this cat silly after a few rounds and then knock him out in the middle rounds!!

Herrera aint no tune up, the guy is a really good fighter with tons of heart. The kind of Mexican that can get an upset in Puerto Rico, again.

Well, he's the closest you'll come so you better embrace that.

Cotto is still the #3 PPV name out there. WTF.

The promotion for Herrera will now focus on the win over Provodnikov. I have to wonder how Danny pushes out the biggest win of his career to go and drop a few levels to fight Herrera. This is definitely not a money fight, and the guy is a nobody without the name Provodnikov to back him up. I guess trying to change the game up with 2 promotions working together is the target here. This fight itself doesn't bring much pop.

Danny doesn't speak fluent spanish right? Or am I misinformed on that.
Should be a fight that raises Danny's profile 5 fold.

There is a huge problem with this "Danny is Puerto Rican like other Puerto Rican's" theory. It is NOT TRUE. Here is a simple wake up call to that: If he was fighting a Puerto Rican from the island, they would all be pulling for the islander and he would get the cold shoulder, guaranteed! Danny will get SOME support now against a non-islander but their support will be LIMITED and CONDITIONAL. VERY SIMPLE. He has to realize, their support for him has a big hole in it and they would turn cold FAST on him if he was fighting an Islander, that is why he will never get their complete devotion and unconditional support. That is the reality!!Last edited by richardt; 01-25-2014, 12:21 PM.
