Even though I'm a fan of bhop, I gotta say sugar Adam ali is destroying everyone .
How would Hopkins have fared in the 80's?

lol tito, pavlik, tarver, etc,,, Hopkins carves up big punching ploddersThe 80's were a great time at MW,much like now is getting. I think Mccalum and Norris would good chances vs Hopkins too.
The Beast has all the wrong style for Hopkins who has always had problems with punchers who come at him. Sans Pavlik (who was hammered 2 days before the fight and out of shape) Hopkins doesn't throw enogh to keep the plodders away from him. Taylor's style was all wrong for Hopkins. Mcalum and Norris had that style and Mugabi was appropriately named the beast because of it. His MW reign was impressive but it was a bad MW era.Think Larry Holmes at HW era.I think what B Hop has done at LHW has made him legend more that even his MW reign over mediocre fighters at MW.

Tito was a WW.
Pavlik was an alcoholic that moved up to 172 for the 5 million.
Tarver is cheating stiff.
Who were the plodders with power that he faced?
De LA Hoya?
Eastmen ?
Allen?
Hakkar?
Daniels?
People foget that Don King saved Hopkins career the night that he paid the judges vs Mercado,a plodder that destroyed Hopkins, and was robbed with a B.S. draw, Hopkins was beat that night from pillar to post and down what 4 times. The hand selected ref only counted 2-3 knockdowns if memory serves.
Hopkins spent 1999-2005 fighting blown up WW's on his cash tour too.

As the great manny Steward once said "NOBODY outboxes Tommy Hearns"What fighter did he beat that even compares to hearns,,, he may have been a good puncher vs mercado, allen, joe lipsey,,, but lets not act like he was some destroyer,,
Tito is tailor made for anyone elite level boxer
When was hopkins in the roy fight,, was it after 8 shutout rounds, and roy running around in the 9th to stop and pop a jab on hopkins,, that was about the only highlight of the fight,,,
Nothing on hopkins' resume suggests he could outbox hearns for 12 rounds,,
Name the guy that outboxed hearns????????
this thread is kinda funny ... One guy with knowledge schooling a bunch of nsb clownsComment
