  • Comments Thread For: Mikkley Kessler's Boxing Future is Still Undecided

The Viking Warrior, former super middleweight king Mikkel Kessler (46-3, 35KOs), became a father for the first time around Christmas. A private matter it may seem, but Kessler is on the record telling reporters that he would never enter the ring as a parent. However, he was recently interviewed in BT and Kessler left the door open for a continued career but nothing is decided yet. Kessler has been out of the ring, and the limelight, since losing a twelve round decision in a rematch with Carl Froch in May of last year.

Whats with the title for this thread? Mikkley?!

If he can get a last one with Froch that would be beautiful, but I don't mind him retiring, other than the fact that I will miss him a lot!

Mikkel should retire.losing to Froch proved he is on the slide.

I won't begrudge him a return, but if he's not the force he was I don't want to see him continue.their are some winnable fights against top opposition out there for him,Stieglitz,Groves,Abraham,Chavez and Bika etc would any of those guys want to face him though ? I don't believe so.

The man doesn't need to fight anymore. He's living in Denmark, a country that takes care of its people. There was never much need for him to fight in the first place but now there's even less reason now that's he's nearly 35. Maybe a trilogy against Froch would be good but other than that there's not much reason for him to fight again.

As people hint at, unless Froch III, just retire Mikkel. You made your country proud of you. Thanks for the memories, the handshake and the autograph.

I'd like to see Kessler bow out with a victory. I think he'll come back, perhaps against a can; but he'll get a KO win to finish off a great career.

              He's a top bloke.

Kessler hasn't been the same since Ward took his soul...

Since Ward inflicted those illegal headbuts, yes.

Its a shame such a great boxer had to resort to such cowardly tactics.
