Red K. Tyson had a iron jaw. That should be common knowledge. You had to beat the breaks off him to stop him. Hearns on the other hand......but even he was more durable then a Khan or my all time favorite glass jaw champ in Andrew 6 heads Lewis. Get ya game up playa before you talk that talk.No it's not, having a physical frailty like a fragile chin or hands etc can be detrimental to your career and no matter by how much you're winning, you can still be stopped at any moment, even by guys who hit at average power.
Having a granite chin, allows you to fall back on your natural ability to take a shot and keep coming, allowing you to concentrate on other things in the ring.
Look how Lewis and Wlad had to change their styles to suit their very fragile chins, they both became boring robots, too afraid to use their extensive power. Khan now, seems to be concentrating so much on protecting his chin, he has lost the edge which made him so god in years gone by, he looked terrible against Diaz and looked laboured against Molina, who is/was a lightweight.
So yeah, I'd rather be an extremely skilled fighter, quick, smart, with feather fists and a great chin than a huge hitting guy who gets stopped all the time if he's not too careful.
Heck I haven't even used examples of guys like Hearns or Tyson who could hit as hard as any boxer in history but also had troublesome punch resistance, not fragile chins but pretty close. If I'm not mistaken, every fight Tyson lost was via stoppage.
