    Hatton To Return In May

    HATTON TO RETURN IN MAY

A multi-fight promotional deal between IBF/WBA jr welterweight champion Ricky Hatton, Banner Promotions and Fight Academy was officially announced today in London, however, no opponent or specific fight date was announced. Banner's Art Pelullo revealed that Hatton will be fighting in May in a 20,000-seat tent at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut, but the specific date won't be known until an agreement is reached by Hatton with either SHOWTIME or HBO. The champion stated, "My choice would be to fight Baldomir." More to come....

Imagine that though, IBF belt then WBA belt then WBC belt - and undisputed champion in two weight divisions at once!

If Hatton defeats Baldomir then he's the simultaneous linear champion in two weight divisions (and two highly competitive ones).

        Impressive.

not so impressive if you ask me, if floyd, cotto were doing this ... fighting maussa and baldomir ... everyone would ****en badmouth them. belts mean ****. why go up to 147 when you got unfinished business at 140, hes just trying to gather up all the belts (whom by the way, anyone could have becuase the champions are so weak) so he can come w/ more leverage to the negotiation table to price himself out of bouts w/ cotto and floyd. just my humble opinion. "hey, i'm the champ at 140 and 147" ... i want the lions share of the money, and voila! you have no fights w/ cotto and floyd.

Baldy shouldn't count, Hatton should be fighting, Castillo, or Cotto, or Mayweather. Having a belt does not mean much if you have obtained it from losers like Maussa and Baldomir.

Looks like a WBC/IBF unification with Mayweather, at 147, at the end of the year.

At least Hatton is fighting the 147 champ unlike Mayweather, Beating Judah the ex champ at 147 whats that prove.

means to an end, hatton has the wbc belt at 147 and PBF the ibf off chinny chin chin, big match for the end of the year or allows cotto to come to 147 to fight for the title, should be good.......soon
