I'm not claiming he's the best at 154, but if I'm managing a current world class fighter at 154, no way I let my fighter near him. His style is a nightmare, and he can't keep coming up on the short end of those close decisions forever, and not much purse either, we'll pass
In my opinion I think you can definitely say Carlos Molina is ranked high in the pound for pound best list of putting fans to sleep, clinching, and just plain out having a ****y style. In other words having a ****y, boring, style that consists of excessive clinching doesn't translate into being great defensively and it definitely does not mean you're the best at anything in any division.
I don't consider him the best. I would rate him the third best with Canelo the best and Lara the second best at 154. I am not sure he can beat Cotto so he might be the 4th best at 154.
Canelo though im not a fan of his opposition, got some solid skills and his combos definitely are action packed, but his opposition is well....not so good. Canelo will never step in with Molina(or Lara) as he will ruin him and derail the cash cow.
