Shame they couldn't get Mikey Garcia-Uchiyama for it. That's the fight I want.
I always wanted Broner to fight him.
Uchiyama's pretty good IMO.
I seriously doubt MIkey will fight him. Heard that this is his last fight here and talks for Garcia/Pac are evidently starting to pick up. After this, they're probably going to one stop shop in each weight class until 147
I seriously hate when fighters just go weight hopping in search of big money fights. What ever happened to proving you are the best in a weight division? It's why I like guys like Andre Ward, Sergio Martinez, and Adonis Stevenson. Rather than go weight hopping, they choose to stay in their divisions and establish dominance. Garcia just arrived at 130 a few months ago and now they are talking about him fighting one of the best fighters at 147? Are they crazy? Whatever happened to Garcia saying he wanted to unify 130, then move up gradually?
Mikey is being talked up to be TR's new star and they're going to try and get pac's name on his resume before he retires.... unfortunately, that's the way of the business and don't be surprised to see it next year
If Garcia rushes up to 147, he isn't beating Pacquiao. Garcia rehydrates to the low 140s. He's still too small. This is a really shortsighted move on Top Rank's part. It will just ruin Mikey, nothing more. Besides, this kills any remnant of hope for Mayweather Pacquiao to happen while both fighters are still top fighters.
That's how they work. Unless they can keep Pac in until 2016 or 2017, they're gonna try and rush it. Garcia's their new star and they're going to try and set up a passing of the torch.
So what belts does/can Mikey scoop up on the way up to 47?
Vasquez at 35?
He's gonna have a tough time at 40
Maybe Vasquez, but probably April. I think somebody else was waiting for him... but Vasquez is a good possibility since I think he's with Zanfer

The problem for them is it probably won't work. Pacquiao is De la Hoya at this point. I genuinely believe Pacquiao will knock Garcia, who I'm a huge fan of, out if they fight this year. And what makes them think that Pacquiao will leave instead of resigning?
I think Pac said he doesn't want to leave Top Rank
