If Lara can not get the fights he wants at 154, why not move to 160?

For the PWill fight he was 160 on FN and Paul 170, I know because it was such a disparity when they showed the graphic and it stuck in my memory.

Oh well in that case he'd be pretty small for today's standard.

Guy's like Kirkland is like 174 on fight night and Canelo 165-170.

In fairness Lara doesn't seem like a solid build for 160 he's quite short.

alot of those guys are just as good as the guys people talk about in a p4p sense. The only reason why people think a guy like Canelo can beat Floyd is because he's huge compared to him. If he were the same size or if Floyd had a 20 pound advantage they would call it a mismatch. Thats how all these fights are. That doesnt make it right. No one with any sense thought Canelo was going to beat Floyd and yes he is held to a different standard that is the price of being regarded as the best. Just like how in fights when a world beater is in against a club fighter and the club fighter gets hurt the fight is usually stopped quickly compared to two world class fighter competing because you give championship fighters the benefit of the doubt because they are held to a higher standard rightfully so.

Lara wasnt getting the decisions and he still wasnt the name that he is now. People are too hard on Canelo. He has tried to fight guys. He tried to fight Williams, Kirkland, and Cotto. He did fight Trout. Trout said that Canelo's team didnt want the fight but Canelo made them pick Trout so he gave Canelo respect for that. Now its Angulo saying the same thing. That GBP didnt want the fight but Canelo pushed for it. I dont think he has any fear of Lara. I think if he doesnt get the Cotto-Sergio winner then he's fighting Lara next. I honestly dont think he sees him as much different than Trout, especially if Canelo stops Angulo

Debate involves an open mind. Your mind is not open. Your only goal is to defend Floyd Mayweather Jr. You are by far his most fervent supporter on these boards. You are often even more delusional the Larry in your support for everything Floyd.

Just accept that Floyd has no interest in fights that are compelling matchups stylistically. He wants to look good every time out, he picks fighters that will make him look good, and kudos to him for doing it. He's built himself a very lucrative career doing so.

That doesn't demean his skill level, but lets stop pretending that there is some other reason that every threatening fight is way out there and unfair to Floyd.

As for me, you know nothing about me. Ive been around boxing forever. Im a huge boxing fans. I go to a ton of fights. Fights that dont have nothing to do with Floyd. The smallest local events to events like Canelo-Lara, Khan-Peterson, Rigo-Donaire, Garcia-Judah, and so many more. Ive been to see Pascal train & spar for the Bute fight. I know alot of guys in the business. If you think Im just about Floyd then you dont know me. I think Pac is an ATG. You will never hear me clown Pac like he is garbage.

I think Lara is great fighter. If I had one fight right now to choose to watch in all of boxing it is probably Floyd vs Lara because I love the sweet science but Im not some blind fan boy that just picks names and throws them together and say that they must fight or someone is a coward. Sometimes there are legit reasons. Im not going to rip Floyd for not clearing out his 5th division where he is super small at the weight. Why would I? Yet dont rip Lara for not moving up at all? Thats not reasonable for people to make those arguments.

I would love to see the fight but if Floyd doesnt want it then I understand. Again, only one fight he had to take that he didnt and thats Pac. This 154-160 stuff is icing on the cake to me because Im fair. Floyd & Pac needed to make there fight happen

but he's already been held to that standard and lived up to it. You cant keep moving the bar on him though and no one else. Again, do people think Floyd would be worried at all about fighting Lara if this was Floyd's 1st weight class and he was 160 on fight night? Hell NO

Then Floyd and Pac should stop skipping back and forth between 147-154 so no one can point to challenging opponents and say well he fought Canelo or in Pac's case Marg so why can't he fight Lara, Kirkland, or whoever. If they lost like JMM did to Floyd in such onesided fashion no one would want to see them at those higher weight just like JMM after he lost.

Once they go up in weight for fights and win too they themselves have raised the bar and people want to see the best challenged not just exhibitions against no-hopers like Guerrero, Ortiz, Rios, Clottey & co.

U can expect a lot more of these "protect floyds 0" threads from his nervous stans in these next 2 years. Especially after this A Mere Con job farce. I'm looking forward to the entertainment. I agree. I think he's different to. Im just speaking in terms of how Canelo sees him. I think Canelo feels he can definitely take him without a doubt and I think his team feels nearly the same. They think he's good but Canelo is a solid boxer too, stronger, and Lara still struggled somewhat with Molina, Angulo, and even Williams some even though none of them are anything to be ashamed of, a guy like Canelo will feel like he can take that guy
