I kind of agree with Garcia. Check out this video of Duran explaining how he would fight mayweather (min. 1:40) http://vimeo.com/29965745. If there's a fighter in the 147 weight class who's remotely capable of executing such a game plan it's maidana.

Maidana would not get completely exposed, sure with his t-rex arms he will be able to somehow reach Mayweather and knock him out. also he will break Mayweather down to the body because as we all know Mayweather couldnt withstand the body work of Cotto. and although Maidana got convincingly beaten by Amir Khan who is not even close to the skill level of mayweather, Maidana will outclass Mayweather.

in the real world. Im a big fan of Maidana but he stands no chance. and may not even beat broner in a rematch. Ill admit its a better fight then Khan because of Maidanas chin and power but hes slow plotting, no defense and ring smarts is about as low as they come. if his plan would be to outwork Mayweather maidana would be gased by the 4th round similar to mosley and a white wash for Floyd. but if i had a vote id rather see maidana then khan, thats for damn sure.

Movement= Get On Your Bicycle & Not Engage; If Floyd Stands & Fights, Maidana by KO

That's always the case with Floyd. He calls it 'defense', when he climbs on his bike and runs, pot shotting from afar. When he stood in there and fought Cotto, who was past his prime, Floyd got beat up, bloodied, and went for the sunglasses after the fight. SINCE... he ran and stayed away from Guerrero & Canelo, so to stay alive long enough to collect on that 6 fight Showtime contract.

What I mean by that is he will move, then stand in the pocket, defend off the ropes, box the center of the ring... and etc. He can in theory be caught in one of his stylistically weaker transitions. Maidana has the toughness to hang in there and take punishment and the power to make it count if he can catch mayweather in transition with something.

that is the reason I consider maidana a more superior opponent for floyd than Khan.

Maidana is tailor made....this is what people don't understand Floyd has options on defense....he shoulder rolls, if that don't work he can fight textbook both hands near eye level, that don't work, peekaboo, or less you in hands down....one signature punch or two or Gameplan will do it.....Mayweather dissects analyze on the fly....after that left hook or right hand don't work for Marcos it's over.....money is better on the inside, mid range and outside....he will destroy this kid

Let me start by saying I don't think Maidana beats Floyd.

Maidana is a better fighter then when he fought Khan.

And the bold is completely false on every level.
