I never said he didn't land anything.

I said he didn't punish Groves and a lot of his shots were arm punches. Not many landed on the button as opposed to Groves.

But let's agree to disagree. This is getting tiresome.

It didn't even get to the point of warranting being stopped. Don't a fighter have to be in some kind of trouble before being stopped?

This is why Froch shoulnt want the ref to be so clever and claim to see things other people don't see like Hayley joel Oswald in the sixth sense did.

When the ref stopped it, I thought something happened outside the ring or something, like someone parachuting into the ring or maybe Groves gloves had a tear in it or something.
Clearly Groves had been punished throughout the fight and was stumbling like a drunk around the ring when it got stopped.

He had lost all composure, to the extent where Froch looked like a guy sober enough to be on his way home from chuch in the first round.

Wonder why Groves was so hurt from arm punches

Froch landed some good shots in the 9th round, yet Groves still wasn't 'so hurt'. He was hurt.

But definitely not to the extent Froch was in rounds 1 & 6 particularly.

Groves looked more hurt, the referee judges it by how the fighter looks. Froch was taking clean shots throughout but he was never sagging into the ropes and stumbling forward with his head down.

              This is apparently what happened:

Froch was fine after the quick knockdown, it was more or less an equal fight and Froch unloaded dozens of clean shots on Groves who was wobbling around the ring when it got stopped.

I am a big Froch fan as well, but the way they spin the fight to be something it wasn't, is just insane.
He didn't "punish him" in the sense he dominated him, gave him a sustained beating or was even winning but groves definitely took his share of punishment which his face tells.

I never said the fight was even I had Groves winning but it was far from a domination.

And you did say Froch barely landed any punches and Groves barely took any shots or punishment. You actually did say that go back to the thread and look.

im interested to see a rematch. first fight left a sour taste. the end result is froch got the win, but his stock went down whilst groves took a loss and his stock went up!

its amazing how well froch has done throughout his career when he lacks so much.

                  Thank you.

The first paragraph is all I was saying. We just have different ideas what punishment means.

I think Groves took his fair share, Froch had his moments throughout the fight. But I Don't think I counted too many times where Froch landed clean hard shots. But Groves was landing the far better shots throughout the fight IMO.

But of course Groves took his share, otherwise his face would have looked differently.

He's got a lot too tho. Good power, good jab, great stamina and punch resistance. He lacks speed and defence which causes some to underrate him.

yeah id agree he has a decent dig on him and a good chin, but you know what im saying, he is quite slow, technically quite poor and this is why it was no surprise to see him well behind on the cards against a guy like groves who can move a bit.
