angulo absorbs too much punishment, the only way he wins is if canelo its tentative and lets him bully him around

I like Canelo as a fighter. He gets a bad rap around here but he's clearly trying to step up his competition and prove himself.

But I keep seeing people say we know he hits harder than Lara. How do we know that? They have a common opponent in Trout who Lara definitely hurt more. Plus, Lara has been fighting stiffer competition for longer. Those fighters will obviously be harder to KO. I think who is the harder hitter between the two is very much in question.

As far as Canelo Angulo goes, we will find out about Canelo's chin and will to win. If he can fight his way past Angulo, I think he has a bright future. Canelo's combination punching and stamina will be very important as well.

Angulo will eat a lot of leather but if he can take Canelo's power I think it's going to be VERY interesting.

We've never seen Canelo withstand the kind of pressure/power punching angulo will bring.

But aside from Angulo's chin, which is great as we know, Canelo is great going to the body so we have to see how Angulo reacts to that as well.

I do not think this is a walk in the park for Canelo and I think it's going to tell us a lot about him. If he wins impressively it's a very credible win in my book.

            I agree 100%

I know you assholes are going to jump all over me for this but, Angulo is being a little underrated here. There, I said it...

I consider Lara an all around better boxer than Canelo (skill-wise) and Angulo was able to punish him to the body and drop him twice (something that had never happened in his career before.)

Canelo is not as fast, and nowhere near as slick as Lara...He will get tagged a lot. Just my opinion, not saying this will be the outcome, as Canelo may be better than I give him credit for, but to me, Trout has been his only legit opponent, while Lara has faced many legit opposition time and time again.

First decent post I have seen from you. When you take time to analyze this fight you will realize Angulo will truly test Canelo in several key aspects; he will test his durability, chin of course, his mental toughness and will.

This fight could end up all wrong for Canelo.

Ok? I guess you're one of the few that take my occasional sarcasm to heart. I may come across as a die hard Floyd fan every now and then, but that's just me trolling certain posters. My favorite fighters are both Floyd and Pacquiao. So, mellow out...

With that said, I agree with your post 100%...we may finally see Canelo deal with adversity or he might show us that he is a good fighter indeed. I don't know how I feel about him after he showed absolutely nothing against Floyd.

Here's hoping for an exciting fight!

I like both fighters by Ko

Can't forget in the Angulo fight, Lara was forced to weigh no more than 165 on fight night. I think that had some to do with Lara's punch resistance

I think Canelo is being dumb fighting at 54 He needs to move up. It's obvious the weight draining saps his energy. His Low volume could be the death of him in this fight.

Angulo has what it takes to upset Canelo but I don't see it happening. Angulo slowed down even more after his fight with Kirkland. The fight with Lara went the way it did because he didn't prepare well and Angulo did. It looked like he took Angulo for granted. I doubt Canelo will. If Canelo stumbles against Angulo, any hopes he had of being a superstar in boxing goes down the drain.

In all honesty, you're not a bad poster at all. It's just your strong dislike towards Pacquiao (or that his fan base may cause) and your love for Mayweather that clash with my stance on them.

You made a very good point on Lara too, not only is he craftier but IMHO he is technically more fundamentally sound than Canelo. He is a more difficult fighter to touch up than Canelo is, a more difficult style to crack. Angulo's pressure is so suffocating that he managed to knock down twice a finesse, more fundamentally educated fighter in Lara which is impressive. He had Lara looking very uncomfortable the entire fight.

Angulo for as one dimensional and caveman like as he might be as a fighter has two huge attributes that will always pose a threat to anyone; immense WILL and apparently, DYNAMITE in those punches. Not to mention this is a make or break fight for Angulo's future so needless to say the hunger and motivation will definitely be there as well.
