After re-watching Angulo vs Lara...

I think Angulo being basically ambidextrous when in close was confusing for Lara. Perro can switch his stance and still throw good punches and he does it quickly... it caused landy a lot of issues as he tried to escape out the sides...he ran into both of his knockdowns basically

Canelo doesnt have that movement, but I think he is better in close quarters than Lara, in the center of the ring or fighting off the ropes, and that is where I think he will do damage in this one

Lara had to create space and hit Angulo has he came in..once he got in close the problems started. Canelo will be in danger as well, so yeah I agree it will be competitive, but in the end I think CAnelo will b stepping up his offense in a major way in this one(maybe wishful, but well see)

Good observation. I hadn't picked up on that myself.

Lara's biggest weakness, besides his tendency towards inactivity, is his weak inside game. He would be significantly better if he stepped up both.

Yeah would be pretty funny.

What would suck is it would rule out Canelo v Cotto and it might mean Cotto fighting Lara in late 2014

I always said that canelo is just like bute.. I even started a thread about it.. Wouldn't shock me if Angulo got up in that arse like froch did bute.. Huge test for canelo imo... Winnable fight but will be a test

Canelo and Angulo are two of my favorite fighters. But like Canelo, I'm from Jalisco, and Canelo has the brighter future, so I'm rooting for him.

I really think this fight could go either way though.

I think Canelo has to attack Angulo, and not the other way around. If Canelo allows Angulo to walk him down and chip away as Canelo gets tired, I think Angulo can finish him.

One thing Canelo has going for him is that he has a lot more power than Lara, and one thing going for Angulo is that Canelo probably won't run all night like Lara.
