Good observation. I hadn't picked up on that myself.



Lara's biggest weakness, besides his tendency towards inactivity, is his weak inside game. He would be significantly better if he stepped up both.

I agree about Lara's inactivity. He doesn't need to be fighting inside though, he'll eventually get knocked out by anyone that can punch a little if he tries to fight inside. If he didn't stick to his game plan against Angulo, Angulo would've knocked him out. That's what I like about Lara though, he sticks to his plan. Too many fighters these days don't stick to what they do best.

I have no doubt in my mind that Canelo vs Angulo will be a very competitive fight.

First off, Lara is a better counter puncher than Canelo, he's faster, craftier, and uses great movement around the ring.

Still, Angulo was able to pound Lara to the body and drop him twice with the follow-up left hook to the chin. Canelo barely throws any punches and does not have the footwork/stamina to stay away from Angulo for 12 rounds.

I know anything can happen in a boxing match and that is what makes boxing such a great sport, but we have yet to see anybody come at Canelo for all 12 rounds, pound that body, and test that chin.

I'm excited for this fight, not picking a winner!

I'm not suggesting Lara ought to fight on the inside, but he ought to learn how to handle himself on the inside when necessary. As it is, Landy goes into that high-guard bullshit when in-close. He ceases all activity. He just doesn't know what to do. It never hurt him before, until he met Angulo. Against pressure fighters, it was bound to catch up to him.
