Khan shouldnt get this fight period,,, its a money grab by team mayweather,,,

He has done nothing to deserve it and i can name numerous guys more deserving,,,

This is basically the shambra mitchell fight all over again...

Khan will bring some fans, but the should just dub this fight "THE CASH GRAB"

      PPV caters to casual fans
Floyd knows he can sell Khan to those people, so that's his plan
the guy has admitted he cares nothing for merit, just money
the backlash for this from comes from diehards, not casuals
it's not enough to stop Floyd from going for it, so he will

I don't knock Khan at all if he gets offered this fight..I do however think this fight will be a hard sell..How can you sell a fighter who has not had a win of note in over two yrs??I think Khan needs a good win at WW, then thus fight would do well IMO..

          casuals outnumber diehards by far
Floyd won't have a hard time selling this to them
and he couldn't care less about diehards attacking him for it
casuals buy names and Khan has one, so it's a go

True about the casuals, but the thing is, at least in the US,, none of the casuals know who this guy is,,, the casuals have only known oscar, cotto, shane, and canelo,,,
khan-floyd is gonna flop at the ppv level,,, At least with canelo you had all the hype, and with ghost and ortiz you could feed the bullcrap to the casuals how they had won fights of the year vs berto, young and hungry, etc

With khan there is really no way to hype him and excite the masses,, they will talk about his handspeed, but in reality when espn talks about khan, and people start looking at his resume, it will be very weak recently,,

            1. hasnt won a big fight since 2011 and that was an old judah

            2. hasnt looked good vs 2 cherry picks in molina and diaz

            3. almost got ko'd his last fight

            4. has lost the last 2 times he stepped up vs top competition ie garcia lamont

            5. has very little name value at all in the states..

            6. people compare him to hatton, but hatton had a much bigger fanbase, was undefeated, and had been showcased on both showtime and hbo for years... Hatton was a much bigger star, and even then the ppv did below 1 mil

            7. I will be shocked if this ppv does 1 mil buys,,, I honestly think it does around 800k like the ghost fight,,, khan just does not bring a big name or excitement to the card

this is quite easy to work out

how many ppv has maidana sold?

how many ppvs has khan sold?

khan has made more money because of the uk market

maidana cant sell ****, he@s not mexican, his figures speak for themselves

1.5 million US buys equals 135 million in revenue.

Anyone who thinks a promotion with Khan is going to sell as well as one with Hatton is crazy. Floyd Khan might max out around 600k buys @ $14.99 per for 9 million in revenue.

Of course the UK broadcaster takes half of that leaving this mythical UK PPV pot-o-gold sitting at about 4.5 million bucks to split up. Not really **** when one guy is carrying a 32 million dollar guarantee and the other guy is such a spoiled b*tch he surely believes he deserves 5-6 million himself.

All numbers aside - the fact that the ****ty Mayweather PPV's have done well in the past is because they have done a good job taking guys like Cotto, Ortiz or Guerrero and making you like them and turning it into a good guy underdog vs. big bad champ matchup. Maidana can play that role as well - and probably much better than the other guys.

You put Amir Khan in there and you basically have two c*nts scissoring each other until Khan's G-spot is exposed.

Let's not even get into the fact that if Khan is announced as an opponent his ****** ass will do everything possible to make fans care about him even less than they already do with his false bravado and delusional self evaluations.

Maidana is way more popular and relevant to the causal fan at this moment. The fight result with Broner when Viral all over.

I think Khan does sell more because he can really speak and annoy the shit out of people. I am pretty sure Khan's innate ability to annoy people will pay off in this situation, which will make people want to see Floyd wreck on him which Floyd is likely to do just that probably in fairly entertaining fashion.

When it comes to Khan versus Maidana that is where the real difference is in value, plus some over seas stuff which for Maidana is roughly 0 while Khan can at least throw a bit on the stack.
