Physically probably not. But his style is not one that does well with inactivity and age.Originally posted by Black BartyQuote:

I don't think Gamboa is finished physically, but he fights at a higher wieght than he should, made some terrible career decisions, has practically no promotional backing and I keep hearing rumors he is broke. He is years removed from his last significant win or good performance. At this point if Mikey doesn't fight him, it can't be considered ducking imo. Gamboa simply doesn't matter enough.

Mikeys growing at the perfect pace. He'll get to 135 very soon and he'll have gamboa the couch potato on the canvas like lil man farenas did but faster, harder and permanently. Unless gamboa mysteriously disappears like he did against Rios.Comment

current ability, yeah you can have all the skills but what good is that if you aren't putting those skills against good fighters,or you can have avg skills and beat good fighters,i would choose the one with avg skills who is beating good fighters..i think nowadays anybody gets put too quickly at the p4p list,i think other fighters have better skills and are champions who don't get the recognition this guy does, for example gallo Estrada, that guy has better skils and is a unified champion,he's beaten decent opponents just like Garcia has,but he's not even mentioned at all,you have roman Gonzalez too,i think it has a lot to do with popularity also and that's too bad,I disagree. P4P is a combination of current ability and accomplishment imo. His ability leaves nothing to be desired, but his accomplishments are a bit too thin for P4P consideration. He only has two really good wins, Salido and Martinez (Juanma doesn't count, he was beyond shot), and those guys are world class, but not elite.Comment

He is one of the few "new" fighters that Arum has. Everyone else is getting old and/or almost done like Pac, Marquez, Cotto, and Chavez. After these 4, he won't have any money makers left.Comment

I believe that Mikey has the potential to be on everyone's top 10 p4p list . But I don't think he is quite there yet .Comment

Dude, that's almost exactly what I was saying. Mikey is not P4P yet because P4P is about current ability and accomplishment. If it was only about ability, then Mikey would be P4P. If it was only about accomplishment, Roy Jones would still be P4P. We have to take both into account.current ability, yeah you can have all the skills but what good is that if you aren't putting those skills against good fighters,or you can have avg skills and beat good fighters,i would choose the one with avg skills who is beating good fighters..i think nowadays anybody gets put too quickly at the p4p list,i think other fighters have better skills and are champions who don't get the recognition this guy does, for example gallo Estrada, that guy has better skils and is a unified champion,he's beaten decent opponents just like Garcia has,but he's not even mentioned at all,you have roman Gonzalez too,i think it has a lot to do with popularity also and that's too bad,Comment
