I fully agree, he is one of the young fighters that really impresses me. I been watching him for a while and what he does can't be taught. He's so patient, technical and accurate it's really impressive.

The only thing that I question is one time in an interview he said he doesn't even like boxing. Like he would never box if it wasn't for his father and brother. He admitted he doesn't look forward to fights and it's not his passion.

If your heart isn't in it, I wonder what will he do when he really is tested.

        Quit? We already witnessed that.

I don't think Gamboa is finished physically, but he fights at a higher wieght than he should, made some terrible career decisions, has practically no promotional backing and I keep hearing rumors he is broke. He is years removed from his last significant win or good performance. At this point if Mikey doesn't fight him, it can't be considered ducking imo. Gamboa simply doesn't matter enough.

I'm big on Mikey too. His future is very bright. Love the way he fights. I wouldn't put him top 10 just yet. When I look at the guys I consider in that group he hasn't fought nearly the same level of competition.

I would put him above GGG, Broner and Canelo in terms of guys who are right there. But I think Mares and Roman Gonzalez would still be abov him.

I hope he can fight Nonito.

No doubt Garcia is special. I liked the fact that he took a knock down in his last fight and came back fired up. Showed this guy has that competitive juice. I can't put him top 10 p4p right now but he is not too far back.
Normally I look at Robert Garcia is an ovverated trainer but Mikey is an example of him doing great work.

I guess I just look at things from a trainers point of view and am biased. I just see skills and patience in him that is really impressive.

IMO his best win was Salido, let's see how he looks when he fights some better fighters. Gamboa would be a start.
It wasn't just that he beat Salido, it's how he beat him.
This guy is a born fighter.
