Glovokin, why does he hit so hard? He's not that heavy or fast?

NEW YORK — Gabriel Rosado doesn’t know enough about Curtis Stevens’ skills to offer an informed prediction prior to Stevens’ WBA middleweight title fight against Gennady Golovkin. Rosado did offer Stevens some advice. The middleweight contender from Philadelphia suggested Stevens’ team take as close a look as possible at Golovkin’s gloves next week before they square off Nov. 2 in The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Rosado has his own 160-pound championship match to worry about, but he wouldn’t want Stevens (25-3, 18 KOs) to walk away from fighting one of boxing’s most dangerous punchers with doubts similar to those Rosado has nine months after Golovkin stopped him. “He’s a good puncher,” Rosado said of Golovkin before a news conference Wednesday at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill. “He never really rocked me or anything like that, but he’s a solid puncher. I do believe that his gloves are different than any other fighter that I’ve fought before. I could tell you that right now. We both fought with Grants, but for whatever reason his Grants were missing a little more cushion on the knuckles. And we had a problem with that, and they said that the gloves were approved [by the New York State Athletic Commission].”
In the last paragraph GGG's rep says the gloves are the same weight but GGG has small hands so his gloves are custom fit....that's probably why his gloves look and feel different..didn't know it was legal of if that's how they are normally made so more power to Triple G.
To be clear.....I don't think his record would change or anything, just his fights would be a few rounds longer....if he had NORMAL GLOVES

If it takes 9 months after a fight to say hey, that guy hits hard as ****, lets check his gloves, **** him. I like Rosado, but he just can't face the fact that someone can hit that hard. Regardless, I still want him to win against Charlohttp://www.boxingscene.com/rosado-wa...-gloves--70958

This! Biomechanics is a degree now, we use it Aussie Rules football to increase speed, kicking distance and reduce injury.
It will be the next big thing in boxing, a punch is very much like a golf swing. It's all about recruiting the right muscles in the right order. ATM some guys just do it better naturally like GGG.Comment

It is a combination of technique,genetics/natural ability, training and intention. His intention is to hit hard and he was most likely a heavy hitter from the get go. As pointed out good biomechanics is key and he uses the ground and his whole body for maximum leverage in correct sequence. It can be taught but the naturals do it right instinctively very early on and repeat and reinforce good habits improving the correct brain ,neurone muscle connections and upgrading the muscular efficiency as a consequence getting better at doing it right where others with suspect technique repeat and groove poor technique getting better at doing things wrong.Comment
