It's kind of like Foreman, his style and way of punching may seem slow but there is still speed there along with the technique. As others mentioned Golovkin hits very hard because of technique and also he commits to his punches.
Glovokin, why does he hit so hard? He's not that heavy or fast?

lmao Alex, "heavy handed" doesn't literally mean hands that weigh more on the scales. Some people are naturally well-balanced and can feel and effectively control their weight shifting, allowing them to get maximum mass into their fists within shorter time periods. Power comes from within. Power punchers are experts at punching with their whole bodies in synch, not just their arms. And some people, no matter how fast they are, or how hard they try to use leverage, just won't be able to feel that bursting power sensation inside of them. I've tried my best to teach guys in the gym how to power punch using the most descriptive and easy to understand instructions as possible and they still can't rock the heavy bag...Comment

i think part of it is him not wasting movement especially with his feet he wont move them out of position and lose his set punching stance unnecessarily so he's in the best position to land hard leverage shot consistintley through out the fightComment
