It's probably a product of the properties of his tendons, his ability to recruit his muscle fibers, and his technique. He has very good balance and doesn't push his punches.
Glovokin, why does he hit so hard? He's not that heavy or fast?

gerald mcclellan packed a massive punch but he also had great technique.
Its said that punchers are born. Im not really sure what makes them hit so hard. Like sergey kovalev is not that big or fast yet has deadly punching power.Comment

Golovkin is an alien from Krypton, which orbited around a red star. For his boxing debut on HBO against Proksa, he was sent to earth, which has a yellow sun, and his alien DNA started to absorb our yellow star's radiation - which in turn, gave him all his abilities.Comment

Yeah this. Take Tim Bradley for example. Dude is built the damn terminator. Yet he hits as hard as a serta pillow.
This type of thing also in a way is like quarterbacks with cannon arms. You either have great arm strength or you don't. And I don't mean muscle when I say strength. Look at Jay Cutler or Matt Stafford. Their arm size is pedestrian as far as NFL QBs go. Yet they're able to fire the ball like it's coming out a damn cannon.
Either have it or you don't.Comment

It's if you can move your body's weight into your punches you can create tremendous power. Turn your hips into your shots. Transfer of weight. Similar to many many other sports like NFL, Football, tennis.
How do you think a little dude like Messi strikes a football so hard?
Prince Naz was the master at this, little dude laying people out. Thurman is also an expert at this.Last edited by BrokenHat; 01-15-2014, 08:29 PM.Comment

Its just the way it is. Its in his genetic make up. You could ask the same question about a guy with elite level speed or an iron chin, its just the way that they were born.Comment
