That's what I'm thinking too. Should have took that 10 milly. If the martinez fight happens and cotto loses he's not getting 10. Bad money move

Cotto Is very close to becoming the new Oscar. Beat up a few average guys which boost him for a mega fight but get his butt whooped. Rinse and repeat

That's what I'm saying.....Cotto had the money fight in his hands but his ego got the best of him. He thought he would prove a point to Canelo by not being dictated to and he moves on to fight Martinez thinking Sergio will turn onto a complete bush and cave into to every demand he doles out.
Once he sees that Sergio actually has other options and doesn't need the money, he finds himself in a bind. If he tries to piss Sergio off, dude will fight his mando, leaving Cotto in no man's land.......he really took a gamble and is actually in a tough spot now.
Sergio will make far less bank fighting Rubio but he knows it will severely disadvantage Cotto given his interactions with Canelo previously. Sergio is a smart businessman, Cotto won't be able to "boss" him around like he can other guys.

Cotto just made $3 M for Delvin Rodriguez on the highest rated telecast of 2013. As far as fighting Sergio, it probably is now or never. Sergio is going to have to face GGG if he stays at MW.
Canelo and GBP know Cotto is their biggest $$$ option. They'd never close the door on working with him as a free agent.
