mayweather rematch sound good to me, i dont care what those scorecards said, cotto took floyd to the kitchen and put the stove to his face, that fight was close.

Once he sees that Sergio actually has other options and doesn't need the money, he finds himself in a bind. If he tries to piss Sergio off, dude will fight his mando, leaving Cotto in no man's land.......he really took a gamble and is actually in a tough spot now.
Sergio will make far less bank fighting Rubio but he knows it will severely disadvantage Cotto given his interactions with Canelo previously. Sergio is a smart businessman, Cotto won't be able to "boss" him around like he can other guys.[/QUOTE]
Agree completely

Other than De La Hoya, nobody has scored near Floyd since Castillo I (and Castillo II really). And De La Hoya was a very technical pts scoring (Floyd wasn't throwing a lot, and De La Hoya soaked up some pretty easy rounds at times, but still clearly lost 7-5 or so).

Canelo vs cotto guaranteed would do way more Ppv than mayweather vs amir 'con'. I wish cotto fought canelo first so to hear mayweather reaction to having lower ppv than the two guys he beat. Mayweather wouldn't sale without the Hispanic/mexican market. Only reasons he fights on our holidays (May /sept ). Mayweathers so called ppv records have been due to him fighting the most popular mexican fighter (de la hoya / canelo )

Sure, it was more competitive than Canelo or Guererro, but not by that much. 116-112 or 117-111 looked correct there.

Confident
I think Cotto chose Sergio not only for shot at the title but because he's more confident of a win over him than one over Canelo. If he doesn't beat Canelo, i see it as his exit from the sport. If he does, then they'll [only] go for FMM. That is if FMM accepts
